I've reevaluated my opinion of them. I was sick of them for a while, but that's cause I was listening to The Wall and Dark Side. These more "Trendy" Floyd albums don't do for me what Animals and they're first album do. I love the song Dogs, sepecially the lyrics that go "Who's been building a house full of pain, who's been trained not to spit in the fan, and been told what to do by the man". That sums up how I feel sometimes, except for the part about trained not to spit in the fan. Was that a referance to when Roger Waters spit on a crazed fan? I also like "The turning away", that song makes me cry. Richie Havens did a really good version of that. If I've flamed on Pink Floyd, it was my bad, they rock.
Awsome music, awsome trip music, very sweet band. From what I've heard, The album Animals is based on the book Animal Farm by George Orwell, I read it and it makes sense.
Actually the Roger Waters incident with the fan I think happened on The Animals tour so I dont think that line has anything to do with that being it was written before the incident. Anyways you are right, Floyd rocks. My personal favorite band, check out Meddle if you haven't.
I like everything they did untill 1980 (The Final Cut), aside from Ummagumma which i dont really understand
Me and my friend want to go to their tribute consert. It's called El monstaro . My friend has been but i haven't i realy want too.
I think they were probably one of the greatest bands in the history of all time. Its too bad what happened to Syd though, I would have liked to see him write some more.
