My cat got out of the house... He is microchipped but has no collar... he is four paw declawed because of his previous owner,... he went missing at about 11 this morning... Ive been looking since... I called the humane society and reported him missing and called the company that microchipped him...Im going to continue looking... I also put his l;ittler box outside to get him to come back by sent I put water and food too... and im going to put out a dirty sock of mine... so he can smell me. Im looking for suggestions of what else I can do Im going to put out a flyer if hes not back by tonight... sorry if this is not making sence Im just really sad right now... and worried,.. so if you can think of something else to fi nd him please let me know... thanks guys.

go outside often and call at the top of your lungs for a while. the neighbors may wonder what the hell you are doing but cats have pretty good hearing and when i get home i call out to my cat and wherever he is he starts to peddle his way home. it might be that he is somewhere at the right time and be able to hear you and follow your voice. my cat is outdoor/indoor and has in the past disapeared for a couple of days at a time but always came home. im guessing since yours is declawed that he is strictly indoors......do you know how he got out? make some flyers as well and post them and dont forget to check the daily paper as sometimes people will find lost animals and post "found" ads. good luck!

Elle thats a good Idea about yelling for him... He does come to my voice when he ehars it inside... Yeah Henry is an indoors cat Hes never even tried to get out... HEs afriad of everything. Also he lives downtown so its not a very safe place for a kitty cat... And yeah I plan on checking the daily paper ads and stuff.... wondering aloud... Ive been carrying his food with me when I go to look for him. Thanks everyone for y our advice... I hope my baby comes home to me very soon. -Kat.
Awww... that is so terribly sad. One time I thought one of my cats got out. Turns out she was just hiding very well but I had been going crazy out searching for her and was scared to death. Did you find him yet? I hope so!!
I didnt find him yet... It is very sad because hes such a sweetheart and I love him... But Im still hoping he will come back to me because I know he loved me too. Thanks for the support lucky stripe!
when i was about 15 we had this all black cat who was indoor outdoor (she wasn't a nice kitty, but i still loved her) and every year around halloween i would keep her indoors because of the crazy assholes who steal black cats for rituals and things. well a week before she was due to come inside she disapeared and stayed gone for two years! two years later she showed up and i still have no idea what happened to her but after that she was even meaner than before.
Holy cow TWO YEARS!!!! Thats crazy, And im sorry your kitty was mean... But you must have a HUGE heart to still love your cat... and if he came back even meaner maybe my sweet kitty will come back even sweeter... Not sure if thats possible (Come on this guy wraps his paws around my neck and hugs me and rubs into me.... HEs such a sweet sweet cat.... I miss him.
HE came home!!!!! YAY!!! To a week exactly. HE is ok... VERY smelly and dirty and kind of skinny... but hes home... hes going to the vet and to be groomed today! We had heard him meowing outside but whenever we would follow the meow we could not find him. my boyfriends dad had a safe trap that we used... and we got him the first day we used it. (safe traps are safe humane traps that dont hurt the animal and we checked it ever half hour so as not to make any animal stay in it for too long!) Thank you for all of your support.
Oh you're so lucky. I have three cats that have never been outside and are scared to death of everything, people included. I am always so scared they will get out. I figure I would never see them again. I'm going to get them micro chipped when I have some extra money. I has a ferret that was missing for 7 days. She got out on x-mas eve and we found her 7 days later down the road. She crossed the road in a snowstorm and went into someone garage way down the road. She hadn't eaten in days. When we brought her home all she wanted was her x-mas presents. We hadn't bothered to open anything since we had been looking for her day and night.
my friend's ferret got out and they never found him. personally i think it would have been better for him to be killed. the poor baby has SO many fleas and their house was infested. they pretty much did nothing about it. his life was miserable....scratching himself raw. i cried over it but when they told me he had gotten out i sort of felt better about it. atleast if he dies he will be in peace. or maybe some kynd soul found him and treated him for his fleas.......that would be ideal!
