Urrrrrrrggghhhhh!!!!!! Okay, think I feel better now. Made the mistake of going to AGR....guess it's time to stay away from that place till sometime in August. The big 'permit/no permit Gathering/A Gathering' debate is gearing up to blow into full flames any time now....... It's annoying....watching each end flame each other over Rainbow politics (and what an oxymoron that is anyway!) On the other hand, it can be amusing to watch each side accuse the other of things that are true of both the Gathering and A Gathering (for those who have no idea what I'm talking about The Annual/National Rainbow Family Gathering of the Tribes is the Gathering that will be held in Colorado this year....A Gathering of the Tribes is held in Missouri every year during the same time as the Annual/National Gathering) What I wanna know is how many folks just don't give a crap about the politics at all. How many people go to the Gathering because they know they'll see tons of folks that they've known for years? sidenote: our kitchen crew is notorious for 'thumbing our noses' at the politics...tell us that we have to feed main circle in a clock-wise direction and we will serve counter clock-wise because Rainbow is part of the counter culture (besides, more people get fed evenly if the servers go different directions) When a brother tryed to call council in the middle of our kitchen....while the crew was building it....the brother was told that he needed to move on down the road cuz the kichen was under construction & the crew didn't need a work council to get the work done Granted, some folks concider our crew a little rough-edged but the crew will respect your thoughts and ideas as long as you don't attack theirs Cinnamon
I get tired of the permit v/s no permit crap too. I've been to four Nationals and countless regionals and I couldn't ell you who signed a permit or who didn't. I go to gatherings so that I can see my family that I love so much. I like to slip into kitchens and be a dish fairae too My 2 kidz love to go because they love gettin out in nature and just enjoy all the love and being free. Luv and Lite Sweet Pea
I dont like politics in the real world let alone my world,,,,, i personally dont like the whole permit thing but eh,,,,it is what it is n thats that... spk you can slip into my kitchen n fairie all ya want ...
Loving You~ psst...this picture is near a proposed scout site! Hey about that permit crap, the politics suck, primarily because of the gov't and plunker. I looked at the NFS proposed sites and THEY SUCK and WON'T work. There is a group scout that is going to scout out a place this month. A brother coming up from N.Mex. and a sister with others(?)...just a little tid- bit...
ive got a good feelin about this years gathering. seems like alot more work is going into scouting. west virginia was a joke if ive ever seen one. ive felt more love in ocala than that gathering. lets do it right this year. dont let the forrest service decide where yer home is gonna be.
any way it gos,, there gonna decide,, theres not enough unity in defiance with the family anymore.. but i agree,,almost any sites better than last years site for community/love..
Hell, last year I ran into 3 different folks who claimed to have signed a permit. What's up with that? That little old piece of paper hasn't made any difference to me one way or the other. Gathering's either good or it ain't, and its got a hell of a lot more to do with the people attending than some piece of paper that most nobody ever even sees... The trick is to make a GREAT gathering no matter what the political bull poop is.
It the folks who push the 'A Gathering' that really bug me, 'specially since we used to be a big part of the MO Family Heard 'Prophets Thumb' recently Earthmother, Beautiful!
all i gotta say is i've been to at least 10 nationals and yeah there has been some rocky stuff like camping to close to water and getting tickets at Utah and the whole main circle crap at MI but in the end its really about your experience and the friends you see and make thats why i go to see those people i only see once a year so in the long run the papers that are signed really don't make much of a difference to me
April 29th - 30th ( May 1st ) First Scout Rendezvous All the scouts and anyone interested in being involved in site selection show up at Scout Rendezvous and go scouting. We need more people involved in scouting. If you're interested, you'll need to be able to fund yourself including Weeks of driving around in vehicle, buying gas, fixing cars, eating, etc. We need to get more people involved in scouting. New able Scouts welcome!! The Scout Rendezvous site is TBA, but will probably be at a holding camp type area. North Central Colorado is a possibility. All ideas and energy welcome. Leaving a message on the Colorado Lightline (303-595-1077) is a good way to get in touch with folks. Peace, Fre
