Hey everyone. I am new here, so I thought I would say hello so that I can feel more at home. I have a two year old son, cloth diapered, co sleeping, nursing, the whole bit. I just recently moved from a little town to the city I grew up in and have not made a lot of friends here. We just got our broadband set up, so I figured I could meet some like minded folks online. I am also just now switching back to a vegetarian diet, and want my son to, as well. Anyone have any suggestions on websites, books, or recipes on vegetarian toddlers? Thanks!
Hey there mama!! Welcome. Make sure to check out the vegetarian forum. My family and I have gone vegan recently ( well dh is still on dairy) and Im still using up the huge amount of dairy butter we have. Anyways, Im a mama to 3
Hi, great to meet you No kids of my own am just lurking and learning for now. Good luck with the switch. 'vegetarianbaby.com' and 'vegsource.com' are pretty good.
Good to have new friends. Welcome to the site. My son is only 6 months old, and he is doing a wonderful job of teaching me to be a daddy. As far as vegan recipies go, This one is really good, if you don't mind seaweed. Lentil/seaweed wraps 1 cup cooked lentils 1 cup cooked brown rice Large tortillas Seaweed sheets (the kind used for sushi and california rolls) Soy sauce (the following ingredients are optional and you can add more or less acording to taste) onion green bell pepper garlic mushrooms Mix rice and lentils together. Dice onion, bell pepper, garlic and mushrooms. use as much as needed to satisfy taste. Sautee the veggies, adding mushrooms toward end. When all the veggies are cooked, add the rice/lentil mix into the frying pan, mix eveything together and press flat. Pour a generous amount of soy sauce onto mixture and let fry for a few minutes. Flip mixture over and fry other side, adding more more soy sauce, if desired. Remove from heat and cover. Brush tortilla over hot burner a few times untill toasted (this is optional as well, you can heat the tortilla however you see fit) Brush seaweed over burner to toast as well. Place tortilla on plate, followed by seaweed. place filling in center, wrap and enjoy! This is one of my favorite recipies, I think I am going to have to make some for lunch today.
Welcome. I'm Maggie. I'm one of the forum moderators. druminmama and I moderate this forum, especially. I'm the WAHM of four. Sunshine is almost 20, Moon is 17, Lennon is 14 and Sage is 6. They are all Attachment Parented, Long Term Breastfed, cloth diapered ect. I run a home Lactation Consulting business. This is a great forum. Not all the mamas and daddies are vegs, and some of the mamas couldn't get breastfeeding to work, some work out side the home, some are SAHM and we have a SAHD, and a few WAHM, but we all do what we can. Everyone here tries to do the best for their children. Have a good time.
Hey, Tiffany. I don't have any suggestions for your toddler's vegetarianism, but I do have a question. How did you like cloth diapering your baby? I'm about seven months pregnant and I want to cloth diaper my baby. It seems to me like it would cause a lot less irritation. I just don't see anyone being very comfortable in plasticy synthetic pants. My mom and her friends like to give me shit about it, though. So I thought I'd ask around. I don't know anyone personally who has any experience with alternative parenting. Everyone I know bottle-fed, pacified, and plastic-pantsed their kids. I just can't do it to mine. Oh yeah, and welcome. What do you think about vaccination for little babies? From what I've researched, vaccines have actually never been truly proven to do what they say. It has only been proven that "maybe" they work. It seems to me that they've actually been proven to cause more problems than they help and I'm going to talk to my doctor about possibly not allowing my child to be vaccinated. What do you think?
