hey, we have a keg of killian's that we originally tapped saturday after purchasing friday night, we overestimated how many people would be coming to our house on saturday morning for st patties day and still have about half the beer left. we bought a big bag of ice tonight, began re-icing it and what not. Will this keg regain most of its coldness? I am having a sample cup right now and i think it tastes alright but i'm not sure. any tips to advance the cool-down process? I'd prefer not to waste all this beer. thanks

    jd

i also posted this in random thoughts but i figured i'd try it here too.

well how exactly did you ''re-ice'' it?

just put it in a bucket full of ice?

that sounds like the only logical way to do it

or put it in a fridge

or put it in the freezer every once in a while, dont want it to freeze....or do you?

beer flavored ice....or beersiccles! i could make millions

It should be ok with LOTS of ice. We held a spare already tapped Keg for 6 days and on the final night it was slightly flat but other than that it still got the job done.

freezing the beer would make it taste worse then going flat anyways..

when i worked at a resturant we wouldkeep kegsin the cooler which would be hooked up to thebar, pretty sure they stayed good for at least 4 daysin there, but that was a constant cool tempature

heh, normally it wouldn't be that hard a task, but we were out drinking all night on friday and didn't get to sleep til 5 am after we stopped drinking at like 3. we were up at 6:30 all tired as hell and i neglected to snort any forms of speed to keep me going heh.

by the way, yes, freezing it?? hahahahha. also, putting it in the fridge is just *slightly* difficult. we put a bag of ice on top of it then a few hours later opened the bag, put ice around the top of it, and filled it as much as we could in the basin itself. so far it has not been too successful an endeavor.
