Not really... But it is wishful thinking. There is a lot we can do to curb pollution, somewhat, but we're never going to live in world that's less polluted than it is now, which is unfortunate. Sadly, it is probably going to get worse - at least until we curb our dependence on fossil fuels anyway.
we are part of the enviorment so yes... but that is only a small part of it i also want to save animals, natural resorces, protect the land from deforestation, ect.
I am a member and volunteer for a group that my brother and some of his friends in various fields of Environmental Protection and Preservation recently started. It is called Rock the Earth. I think many of the people here would find this to be an excellent group to join, they just got their charter in March, so they need all the new members they can get. Essentially, Rock The Earth is a partnership between national experts in Environmental Protection, Environmental Law and the Music industry to provide services to locations throughout the country that ole' Uncle Sam tends to overlook of socio-economic reasons. Essentially there is a tremendous amount of prejudice in terms of how the US government alocates funds to manage areas in need of remidiation. I invite you all to check out the website: www.rocktheearth.net there you can find out about their mission statement, some of the projects they are currently working on and when they might be on tour near you. The people are doing something extroardinary and stand by their motto of Defending the Planet One Beat at a Time.
that is simply not true...there is much we can do -voting and writing to politicians and signing petitions to help the reform -joining environmentalist groups -recycling -concerving
wow dhs thats awesome...there is a show coming to my town on aug 8th...i might check it out... rock the earth suports alot of great causes!!!
thanks for checking out the sight. they are a fantastic group of people who will help this planet considerably.
i was a part of an environmental group a couple years ago in university. mostly cuz a friend of mine ran it. i just sat in on meetings, contributed very little. the only thing i contributed, was organizing a trip to see david suzuki, and the only reason i did that was because randy bachman was gonna play there.
There are endangered species going extinct in the present. But, that's right, you only care about humans. Potential life? Are you dumb? Ummm, you might want to get aquainted with biology. A fetus is alive. Comfort vs. a life? You are sickening. Her body? Yeah a woman can do what she wants w/her body even kill herself as far as I'm concerned, but she has no (moral) right to end another's life simply because she conceived the child and it is dependent on her for life, just as it is once out of the womb. Willy_Wonka- You are not naive. These people just do not wish to do anything about the extraordinary extinction rate, pollution, etc. They also do not want to be made to feel guilty about it, so when someone argues for the environment, they naturally attack. Not too long ago we thought slavery was super and wonderful and the Nazis thought they were the superior race and women were inferior not long ago also.......times have changed haven't they? People will come around, you'll see To answer your question, I am a member of The Sierra Club, World Wildlife Fund and my favorite The Nature Conservancy. Keep up the good work and don't let these pessimists get you down
