...i just received a tablet from my employer. i am loving it! i had always used external pads, pens etc and they nver really suited me. I've been designing away while lying on the deck in the sun, sitting watching tv...its just flip the screen over and start goin off! I can't believe i'm only using one for the first time now...it makes me wonder what the hell i was doing before. anyway i highly recco this to you if you do graphic design or creative arts.
One major difference between a touchscreen w/pen input is that there is no pressure sensitivity (to my knowledge, if there is please correct me.) This makes linework a bit clumsy for skilled tablet pad users. I've used the Gateway convertible tablet before, and honestly it sucked for drawing. It was only intended for words anyway~
hey...I have the Toshiba portege and it is pressure sensitive. That is one of the best things about it, for me! Trust me the work I have done in the past few days is outstanding considering the portability it affords. I am on it now! I also have the non tablet portege. How cool am I...my work gave me 2 laptops!
