can't wait for St Patty's... my hubby's Irish so the family has a bit of a green dinner and to-do, no biggie.
Well, when the kids go to bed the night before St. Patrick's Day, I'm going to decorate the kitchen with green and white balloons, put a shamrock-covered table cloth on the table along with St. Patrick's Day plates and napkins. When they get up, we'll be having shamrock-shaped biscuits and honey, and milk tinted green. Lunch time, shamrock-shaped sandwiches. I'm having them hunt for big, green metallic shamrock charms that I'm going to hide throughout the downstairs of the house, and once they find them all, they each will get a little tiny black cauldron filled with chocolate coins in gold foils. I also made up a matching game and printed out coloring pages from the computer for the kids to color. We're also going to make shamrocks out of clay and then paint them. Dinner with be a meal of Irish fare, and dessert will be shamrock cookies, lime sherbert shakes for the kids, and green beer for my hubby.
Going to see a band, Tea Leaf Green, at this place called the Stone Church in New Hampshire with some friends of mine. At least my ancestors will be proud that I'm spending some time in a church on St Patricks day
Jeez, it's just a spelling Annie, you needn't be so snarky about it aha, it's like my name, only spelled differently
as for what i'll actualy be doing on that day, while i cannot with certainty predict, the greatest likelyhood is that i'll be sitting here infront of this thing like i am now. like i almost always am, having to live in this stinking city instead of up in my lovely surreal nervana hills, where i'd be goin for long walks and sayin hi to all the little furry critters if i was up there, and felt like goin outside. which i suppose there's no more guarantee i'd be doin then here, except the woods are less depressing to me then what people insist on doing with surroundings they've more densely populated. =^^= .../\...
Uh no. I said I tried to find "proof" and couldn't find it. Sorry I didnt have time to search. I don't care if you believe the wrong thing.
So, as a pagan, you cant wait for the celebration of the "saint" that murdered and threatened our ancestors out of their old ways? Must be some more of that wonderful religion merging that you do.
i inadvertantly wore green today. gained much respect from crazy irish people. little do they know im scottish. there is an irish pub down the road from my house but i wouldnt dare to go near there tonight....
I have to work. But I hope to get stoned, and then get stoned when I come home. plus my mom comes back tomorrow. So I would like one night to myself, plus it’s going to hard knowing my grandmother won’t be coming back with her
The people bitching about St Patty murdering our Irish pagan bretheren are right. But it's a good excuse to throw a party. I'm not very connected to my Irish roots anyway.
