It is the sad and almost painful truth that the metal scene has become increasingly dominated by men over the years. However there are slowly more and more bands breaking the mould and recruiting female singers. Bands such as Nightwish,Lacuna Coil,Garbage,stratavarius,Gothica,Arch Enemy....just to name a few. I wanna know if there are any cool, female fronted bands out there that we should all be checking out and giving our recognition to. Let me know what u think of female fronted rock/metal bands...are they better than the conventional male fronted bands or are they not?? There are plenty of female artists so why are there not as many female bands?? let me know what u think. peace and love, folks!:sunglasse
Yeahs, there is a few rock bands with girls. The donnas, auf der mar, Hole, kitty, to name a few. I don't like alot of female singers in rock bands, they just don't sound right because of how they sing. Some groups though, like ladytron, venus hum and stereolab sound great with a female singer.
It seems to me that metal is based on aggression, and women aren't as aggressive as men. Hence more men make metal music.

Didnt Nuclear Death used to have a female vocalist at some point. and i saw a good female fronted band quite recently cant remember the name tho. but there does seem to be a lot less than there used to
