I have been vegetarian and was for about 7 years. Then I got married to a meat eater and fell off track. Im back now and have gone vegan this time its only been a few weeks but Im noticing a HUGE difference in my body and the way I feel. This morning I woke up at 6:30 am totally ready to start the day.... I used to drrrrrAg out of bed in the morning and usually slept as long as I could (about 8:45 at the latest since I have kids.)

My question to you guys is did you start feeling differences as well? What did you feel? How soon did you feel changes after going vegan?

    Inspire me MORE! :)

Girl, I had some gas! For a while!
I did feel superb, though, beginning about 2-3 weeks after the change-over, and still do. Good for you for making the leap! I definately feel it's worth it.

When I went vegetarian from meat eater I had a bit of gas too, but I did everything at once and it proved tobe too much because I was young and iddn't doit right. When I did do it right, I stayed on. Haven't touched meat in about 5-6 years. I noticed when I stopped eating meat I had a bit of gas too but your body adjusts.
Also, I can't really describe it, I felt cleaner inside. Just a clean feeling. Maybe you know because you are vegan. I can't remember feeling anything but happier when I dropped dairy and eggs for good :)

It sounds *artsy-fartsy* but I feel LIGHTER. I'm not much of a transcendentalist, at all, but that's definately how I feel. Less burdened, if you will. Physically.

So a vegan is married to a meat eater. How does that work out? Do you prepare 2 different meals, one for each. Or does he cook his own. How about your kids, which do they eat?

I was predominantly veggie until my bf moved in with me. Don't wanna cook 2 separate meals so I just cook what he wants, alright with me, I enjoy meat and all. Just hate handling chicken cos of salmonella paranoia, still overcook it :H .

    it's simple.
I cook mainly vegan and my sweetie can make sandwiches of whatever he has (a tub with lunchmeat and such is in the fridge) when he craves meat.
I don't always keep it in the house, but I 'm trying to be respectful of his choices, too.
He doesn't cook anything that smells and I keep his crap in the fridge.
My son eats both forms & is not a slouch in the kitchen himself at 14.

I'm married to a meat-eater as well. It isn't too terribly diificult for me. We both eat what we like. No biggy here, except for going out.
I don't like to make a big freaking deal in our little-bitty area. People look like deer in headlights when you ask for the pizza w/o cheese. I thought the gal was going to fall out last week. She said it wasn't possible. Apparently not without defying the laws of physics.
Keep vigilant with your own self. Keep it up!

Oh my GOSH, I am the gas QUEEN! I fart alot. I used to be squeemish about farts but then I married a vegan and made the change. Now I see it as a sign of good health. Means I have good intestinal flora and things are rollin' along in there getting digested and not just sitting there rotting.

Also, I have a mood disorder and have balanced out alot since I stopped eating alot of the crap I used to like. Stuff like chips and sugary snack cakes.

I have also noticed being more energetic lately. Been vegetarian since Thanksgiving... not quite vegan, but I too am getting up around 8 now instead of dragging myself out of bed around 9:30.

As for the other... I'd chalked it up to all the extra beans I'm eating now. Maybe it's the other veggies too though, huh? I sure am glad I'm not alone though! I've even managed to scare my husband a couple times ;) heeheehee!
    love,
    mom

My bf has his own tasks, if I don't live up to my responsibilities then he doesn't have to live up to his and that would greatly inconvenience me.

HAHA, I used that term too :D.

But seriously, too much gas is very uncomfortable. Like when you indulge in black bean soup, who can resist black bean soup :p, and then my gut is in a serious wrench for 2 days :(.
