How many of you are on medications that smoke? I was just wondering. I am not on any medications. But I have been having allot of panic attacks. And I am going to be going to the doctors next week. And he might put me on some medications. Just wondering about taking medications and smoking it up

its ok. Nothing dangerous...it might rebound the effect, not giving you all the benefit you can get from em though. You might keep gettin panic attacks.

So your saying if I keep smoking I might still get panic attacks. Cause when I smoke I never get attacks.

Assuming that your age is accurately posted, perhaps consulting with your physician is the best option. He cannot report you to the authorities or the like. He will simply give you a straight answer as to whether or not it will conflict with your current medication(s). From there, it's your call.:)

I could be wrong, but I don't think marijuana has any serious complications with any known drugs. If your having panic attacks, wouldn't you be prescribed benzo's and not anti-depressants? I don't follow that kind of stuff, but I thought that panic attacks were caused by anxiety, which benzo's are for. If that's the case, don't worry about it. Xanax/Klonopin/Valium don't have any bad interactions with pot. I've taken xanax and smoked pot, and I didn't notice that much of a difference in my high, but I didn't take much so I barley felt the xanax.

Benzos are better for anxiety and can almost instantly curb a full blown panic attack. But docs dont like to prescribe them bc they are pretty highly addictive. anti depressants also help with anxiety and panic, as they pretty much numb your brain and turn you into a zombie.

As for the question, you can pretty much do anything with weed. It interacts with very few things. You will be fine taking any kind of anti depressant or anxiety med and smoking. Although you might not care for the effects, who knows. But you should think about going on them before doing so

if you're prescribed a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), it might increase the effects. nothing dangerous though.

Drs dont prescribe MAOIs anymore bc of the fact they interact w/ too many other drugs.

    Drink on MAOIs, youre fucked.

just dont do speed...I almost ended up in the hospital mixin both. It can bring serotonin syndrome, what s also very possible with maois.

Jennifer. You could still get panic attacks, But it will never be as common as they were before you take the meds. Its just that weed will not make the meds give you the most amelioration they can.

Well thats what it does. I was taking effexor which affects the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine, and they must have never depleted after the speed rush because I never crashed while on effexor.
