Hey, Check out this artists work:
    www.tenthousandvisions.com
I really like it. It's super-psychedelic and also really spiritually oriented. There are a bunch of new paintings on there since i last looked also. What do you guys think?

    I like it a lot..... A LOT.

However I wish there was a bit more contrast from painting to painting.... they are all very beautiful, but the style doesn't seem to change at ALL...and while everyone has a style, its nice to see a change from time to time.

But I really like the color use, and I enjoy the whole surreal abstract theme.

    Brilliant.

lol another one in the "I can do everything I want too" family. There's just no style since he uses all styles without getting personal, thats the only thing I dislike. Technique: AWSOME!

I don't know- i read the desciptions of the paintings and they all begin to seem really personal to me. the whole thing is the process. It is like having a visual language all your own. Also- if i look between these (minimal and really graphic) and these which are also different in tone and approach than the others- they all seem to come from different angles, obviously done at different times- i see a marked difference.

The technique is really nice but i think you should read the "about the painting" links that are on a lot of them. You might change your mind.

Im sorry tribal. I looked again, but I just can't get into it. For some reason it doesnt touch me. It feels to far away.

The thing mostly with this ways of working is for me that I cannot relate to it, its "above". It doesnt matter if this is because of a drugs-feeling, religion etc. For example with Dali, I could see Dali, and with this I see beautiful painted images of an open mind, that doesnt know how to be open and emotional at the same time. Im sure a lot of people will like it, but I cant relate to it.

    for example with this:

I can relate, its also above and weird, but I can feel the energy and see the lines of working on it. Thats what I personaly like.

    But even well,
its a own belief off course.

    cheers,
    Skhip

Yeah, tribal, I'm not saying it's bad....the guy does beautiful work...something I might hang in my house for color, and a psychedellic vibe.... but, it doesn't really smack me with a certain feeling.

When I look at those paintings, and observe them...I do see certain colors and lines with deep emotion, but the overall product doesn't like knock me off my feet.

When I look at a painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.... my favorite works, are the kinds that make my chest cave in.... the kind that make me feel like "whoa..." inside. And these just don't do it for me... aside from the fact, that this Michael Brown, does seem to have an eye for color--- I will give it that much, I love the color, and he has a nice way of making things look "neat"---but neat just doesn't do it for me.

And again, I just see too much repetition. Even when you show me the contrast ---I still see the SAME subject matter---the whole sky/atmosphere element, and the whole "face"---whatever it's supposed to resemble, a god/goddess, or a woman...I just keep seeing the same subject. I like the subject matter of things to be tossed up a bit, but that's just me.

If I just saw, one single painting from this guy I would probably be more in awe, but seeing them altogether, and knowing that he just keeps doing similar things...makes me less impressed.

    Sorry.
