I'm so sorry, I have NO idea! I'm sitting here scratching my head & thinking "wouldn't that be what you get if you grind up a teflon pan?!?" Not very helpful, am I. I saw kelp granules in the plastic bin-thingies at my health food store last week... I was trying to figure out what someone would do with them! They were in with the herbs, not the grains. love, mom
Boy did you pick a subject that is one of my all time favorites. If I were straight and the marrying type, I would definitely go for an Ethiopian woman. Their cooking and cuisine is the most satisfying that I know. I am a huge fan of sourdough and when I discovered the injera pancakes I felt as if I had come home. I live in Los Angeles where Ethiopian restaurants abound. There is a store http://www.rosalindsrestaurant.com/coffee_tea.html that is attached to one of the restaurants where all of the ingredients needed can be found. http://www.abyssiniacybergateway.net/ethiopia/index.html Good luck in the search http://www.bobsredmill.com/catalog/index.php?action=do_search&keywords=tef&condition=AND Bob's Red Mill is one site http://www.teffco.com/products.html TeffCo is another http://www.accidentalhedonist.com/index.php?cat=359 Not a place to buy t'ef, but good information on Ethiopia. http://store.abyssinianmarket.com/shop.html a market in South Carolina
Hahaha thanks Duncan I want to make some injera cakes for my daughters lunch (to take to school) She likes to have things to dunk in the split pea soup and bean stews I make. All the kids at school tell her I make "weird" lunches! No hohos or juice boxes for my kids! Now, I am buying the twinkie bake set so I can make vegan twinkies for the kids (ok, and me too lol) The kelp granules are for tofu "fishy" sticks Im making for the kids Anyone want the recipe?
Me... ME!!! Could you please share? I am just learning about tofu and would love something "fishy." I don't miss fish, but boy do I miss tartar sauce!!! love, mom
For some reason I can't C&P on this forum so here is a link (to my forum) where I have the recipe posted Fishy sticks
Something tells me you've discovered the wonders of http://veganlunchbox.blogspot.com/ A truly admirable woman with awesome lunch ideas.
YUP! I also posted the link here for all to see as well! I think everyone should read that wonderful blog!
I found my tef at Whole foods. I do believe it is Bob's mill. (applause for Duncan) Thought about idli for soup dunks?
Well apparently if I want Teff flour I must order it. None of the health food stores in my area and even beyond have NO clue what it even is!!! *grrrrrr*
