...Christianity is going to get a bad rap in here. Why do people continue to claim generalities about people in our society? Each time I log on in the Christianity forum, I find myself doing nothing but defending myself as a Christian against all the people asking questions like, "Why do you think the Bible is infallible?" Not every Christian takes the Bible literally. In fact, I only know a few that do. I wish we debated real issues in here. There will always be extremists. Do they deserve the attention they get? Maybe that's what we're all about in America: sensationalism. Whoever acts the most obnoxious gets the attention. Well, I don't like the whole "FoxNews whoever screams the loudest has the truth" phenomena. God bless all of you peacemongers out there: Christian or no. love mollybloom
I agree. Just watched a movie last night, Just Like Heaven and there is a sequence of different spiritual steretypes trying to bless this dudes house (if you haven't seen it...and you don't need to its pretty bad)and it starts off with the priest. And he is all shouting "In the name of Jesus" all dramatic and throwing holy water and stuff. I think I see/hear that sort of stuff at least once a day. I know what you are saying about pointless debates, but I don't think they will ever stop. Anyway, don't just say it, do it. Bring a new debate to get into!
I used to...for about a year. I stopped last December, and now only come around every few weeks... the debates would never take off because people would come in and just flame any and all people debating, whether they were Christian or not.
But yea dude: you're right. I should bring a debate. and I did with a recent thread: what does Jesus mean when he says came not to judge but to save? I can't figure out what that means
