just stared to learn tarot cards its pretty complicated because i dont have a teacher im just reading a book anyone have any advice
mostly, if you get the jist of a card, you'll get it. it's all in the interpretation. they're designed connected with an energy, so they inherently have that energy associated. your subconcious picks up on what the future holds and uses that data to select cards to relay that info on to your concious. when your concious gets it wrong, you'll have a feeling (not a thought, mind you) of something amiss in the interpretation.
Just practice, and try to devise your own interpretations of the cards. As for the books, here is a good one for beginners: http://learntarot.com/
There is a great free 19 part course on Tarot. It is by Joan Burning and you can download it. I dunno the url but if you search joan burning and tarot you should find it. Good luck.
Tarot is a really rich subject matter, once you get into it. I would suggest just learning gradually over time with a mix of experience, reading, and meditation on the cards. You can write down your spreads/notes at first, and that would be a cool point of reference. Another thing you can do is draw a card each morning and try to relate your day to it. This can help you develop your own meanings. I have been reading for a few years and read for myself or close friends, infrequently. I tend to focus on the present. I feel like it is a tool and that the answers or messages I find in my readings are things that I could know anyway, if I chose to be so straightforward with myself. A big part of it is knowing how to read yourself- your emotional reactions to things- and being able accept what you know is true sometimes, even if it appears ugly on the surface. I try to do my best with whatever reading the universe hands me.
