this thread is probably circling around in this forum already, but i haven't found it. i watched it this weekend, great movie, i thought it was anyways. other people at my house found it stupid, but they aren't GD fans. anyone who's seen the movie, give ur input.
um, quite possible my favorite grateful dead dvd. remember the part where this kid is talking to the camera and his friend put something in his hand, the kid is like "whats this?" and the friend goes "its acid man" ot jerry talking about pushing phil down the steps. what a great movie. i never get tired of it.
Excellent film. Its gotta be if Jerry took part in alot of the editing. This movie was his creation. The footage of dead heads is great. We get to meet the fan base and the way it was back in the 70's. The Nitrous tank scene is great. and the commentaries of Jerry and Billy are great and when Phil is toying with the video camera with his bass during sound check. I love it. The jams handpicked by Jerry are all great. I enjoy the opening U.S. Blues, One More Saturday Night, and Eyes of the World best of all. The Truckin is also tight as shit as the countless Dead Heads file into Winterland. All around great people.
i also like the part where they show all the people layin on the sidewalk and those couple people are passin around that Coors can with the joint in it
Great music, especially the bonus DVD...I watched it when I was in Florida and fairly depressed, made me feel a little better, and it's some really beautiful music that I didn't know nearly as much then as I do now... The nitrous hookah is awesome!
i like to take pills that help me pretend ive gone back in time... the eyes of the world makes the movie... its the best eyes of the world IMO, and the way they show the spacey drawings during the jammin is awesome
havent seen it,, maybee i was in it?? sucks to live vicariously dont it?/ its all good.. twasnt what ya see.. unless ya wanted it to be.. luv n lite
Yeah it's good. "Fire on The Mountain" and "China Cat Sunflower" are awsome on it. If u could believe this though, i'm getting a little sick of The Dead's music. They were my favorite band from ages 15-now (23), and I don't get much out of listening to them anymore. I'm getting into Phish and Moe a lot more. But that is a great movie. Ever seen "Dead Ahead"? CHeck that one out.
This movie is great. I love the part when the guy's outside tripping sack talking to the cop. He's like "Yeah I got a ticket. I just need to get my space together before i go into the show. I just came from a phone call." and then he walks away. I laugh everytime I see it. And the animation in the beginning is fucking awesome.
