I heard from my teacher that Wisconsin was bringing back wolves to wisconsin to lower the deer population. Rather than let hunters go trigger happy in the woods. And that it's illegal to shoot a wolf if you see one. Opionions?
Hi there Alden This is what I heard Well, way back when, a long time ago I heard the wolves were moved from one place an taken to another Then some found their way back somehow on their own Then some farmers an others were concerned about the wolves And they were taken back to some northwest state In 99' there was a lot of talk about this on the AM radio station there in Madison known as WORT an I do believe there is still a web site I'm sure they may have still record of this somewhere Personally, I think we should leave nature alone, let her work it out for awhile without man getting involved too much
I'm a bit confused. Wolves ARE in Wisconsin. Infact they are doing so well in Wisconsin the government wants to take the Great Lakes wolves off the endangered species list! Government Wants Great Lakes Wolves Off Endangered List Tuesday, March 21, 2006 The Bush administration Thursday proposed removing gray wolves in the western Great Lakes region from the endangered species list, saying they have recovered to the point that federal protection is no longer needed. The proposal covers Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin, where roughly 3,800 wolves live, and a half-dozen neighboring states that have no wolves but could as they expand their territory. Under the federal proposal, state and tribal governments would take responsibility for ensuring that wolf populations remain healthy. Minnesota and Wisconsin have developed management plans that have been reviewed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Michigan is updating its plan. "Our proposal to delist the gray wolf indicates our confidence that those who will assume management of the species will safeguard its long-term survival," outgoing U.S. Interior Secretary Gale Norton said. The Fish and Wildlife Service also proposed removing the gray wolf from the endangered list in 2004, but a federal judge struck down the plan last year. The agency will conduct public hearings before making a final decision. The process could take up to a year.
I knew of the wolves here in WI No I don't want the wolves killed nor the deer If for some reason the deer should go Then should go to feed the hungry But man thinks he has all the answers Boy is man in for a BIG surprize
I want wolves to keep the deer population at a reasonable level. I rather wolves than letting hunters. I personally hate deer hunters.
I have always wanted to go hunting. not to shoot anything because i couldn't shoot anything. but just to sit and watch nature at work. not many people have just walked out into the middle of the woods for an entire day and just sat there to see what happens. it sounds like fun. as for a gun. all i would need is the one i have in my pants.
