so... i was trying to get my b/f thing not to eat some fast food burger and i said.. you know, poop's probably better for you. so i wonder... since fast food burgers hold next to no nutritional value whatsoever... i wonder if healthy, clean poop is better for you. since it still has some nutrition in it n all.
No, because the nutrition is absorbed by the body. Poop is mostly waste (40% bacteria by weight). Not that a burger is really good for you, but it does have nutrition. At least plenty of fat and protein, if not vitamins or minerals. As far as "controlling" anyone, suggesting something to someone with concern for their health isn't controlling. I'm constantly trying to get my friends to eat better.
lol k btw, it's all in humor... "dude, you shouldn't eat fast food because poop is better for you" yea, i'm a controling bitch. if anything, i'm making fun of controling bitchitude.
Who called you a controlling bitch? Don't twist my words. I just think a burger is not something to get worked up over. Eating nothing but healthy food with no fast food isn't going to keep anyone from dying. Moderation is the key.
you're right, sorry. i hate it when people twist my words. i'm usually pretty good at not doing that. but yea... i'm not and wasn't worked up... sorry, the intended sillieness isn't transmitting very well in this thread... my fault. dumb thread. ...but you know, now that i think about it... you're reading things into my post that weren't there. i didn't say or imply that i was frustrated (therefore worked up) or anything. it was like, "ew, that's gross, poop is prolly better for you"
Lots of critters eat their poop as part of their normal diet. Something about some of the nutrients not becoming bio-available until it's been digested once already. Some of them even get deficiencies if they don't have access to it. (Usually because their human caretaker thinks it's gross and keeps them from it.) I think I'm talking about guina pigs and rabbit type critters.
Rabbits and rodents actually do eat poop to get more nutrients, as their diet contains lots of food which is very hard to break down, and going through twice works for them. Rabbits have a special poop, that they only eat at night, right from their butts. If their cage is kept clean, they won't eat already discarded poop. (We have a bunch of bunnies.) THey eat grass, and hay and the hulls of seeds, and they CAN get nutrients from them, with a second pass through. HOWEVER, they have actually different kind of bacteria in thier stools than humans do. Human stool is NASTY stuff. There is nothing in there good for you. And a lot that can make you sick.
^that's true, but humans aren't rabbits, and our poo is usually pretty well digested the first time around. There's no secret as to why there is such a taboo about feces among all cultures of humans, which cause us to feel disgust about it. It's because poo is waste, nothing good to be found there and can cause disease if ingested. I'm pretty sure the threadstarter wasn't seriously suggesting eating poo, though.
That was the point I was trying to make. I hope the OP wasn't talking about really eating poop. Bleh.
