It's for my math teacher. I failed the two tests we had so far (the first, because I stupidly assumed it would be a 2-day test, like my teacher last semester gave) and the second, because I made a lot of stupid mistakes (like forgetting to put negative signs, etc). So anyways, how does this sound? Tell me how I can improve it, PLEASE, I want constructive criticism. Mr. Bower, I am e-mailing you regarding my math grade. I studied (and I mean a lot) before the last test, and I felt like I was going to do well, but I guess I didn't know the material as well as I thought (plus, I made a lot of stupid mistakes). I don't want you to think I am unintelligent or lazy, because I am neither. I know we are going to have a test soon on the MEAP packet, and I plan on doing well on it. In the meantime, if you have any extra credit opportunities or after-school help, it would be much appreciated. Sincerely, (your name here)
dude, the MEAP's suck! but thankfully, all the juniors are taking it this week and so i've been doing nothing in my classes because they're all full of juniors so i have like 7 people in my classes this week and they don't see the point to having a regular class schedule sorry this is off topic letter is fine
sounds good to me. dont know what your teacher is like, but hopefully he will let you retake the quizes you bombed for at least half-credit or something. thats what i was usually able to do.
SOunds fine, sweetheart. Take out the "and I mean a lot" and just put I did study to the best of my ability. My concern is PLEASE, sweetie, as a mother of teenagers, don't put your name on the internet. I'm gonna remove it for your protection. You are a young girl, and there can be weirdos on this site. Okay? Don't put your name on any internet site. Otherwise, offering to do extra credit and taking responsibility for the test is good.
I was going to take it out, but I forgot! Thank you. My teacher just e-mailed me back with this: See me before class tomorrow. I can see you're a great writer...I may just find something for ya!
That email definitely shows that you're making an effort and care about your grade. Teachers love that!
hahaha, i happened to catch your first name before you edited it. i wont tell anyone if ya wanna keep it private
Teachers appreciate it when you take that initiative and email them and stuff. When you're responsible they respect you and may help you out...
I am reminded of the story of a certain student who flunked Physics his senior year in college, and as a result just barely graduated at the very bottom of his class. The best job he could find was as a clerk in a patent office, where he amused himself by dreaming up whacko theories and sending them to prestigeous scientific journals. Well, it turned out that one of his crazy theories answered a lot of questions scientists were asking at the time - and soon the whole world knew the name of Albert Einstein. Moral: how you do in school is no predictor of how you do in life.
