lol feeling a little threatened are we? I am not kidding myself one little bit and yes indeed I can honestly say I have heard every single Beatles album song on the radio, obviously the radio stations where you come from don't love the Beatles as much as the New Zealand ones do. :p
This is so funny to hear someone tell me that I have no idea what Im talking about when the Beatles are my favourite ever band and always have been. But their music IS mainstream! That doesnt mean it isnt brilliant, challenging, enlighting and wonderfull. Get it into your 17 year old head that just because something is popular and well - known doesnt mean thats a BAD thing. Its a real testament to the power of the Beatles music that all their songs have been played on the radio, that everyone has heard of them and everyone knows at least 3 or 4 songs. And I didn't say that the 'One' album was an indication of their best work, you just didn't read my post properly in order to make some silly, irrelavent point.

There are some that you might not be able to get on CD as most of my Beatles albums are LP (UK/US)....but here are some of my faves!!!

The Beatles' Second Album '64: This has Roll Over Beethoven, You Can't Do That and Long Tall Sally...all pure Rock n Roll!!

Something New '64: When I started listening to Beatles this was one that got me good! Anytime At All, When I Get Home and Komm Gib Mir Deine Hand

Beatles '65 (when else) '65: It has I'll Follow The Sun, and I Feel Fine (the first recorded intentional guitar feedback)

Beatles VI '65: One of my ALL TIME FAVORITE Beatles album. I rocks hard with Dizzy Miss Lizzie Bad Boy(awesome) Eight Days a Week and Kansas City then it rocks soft with Yes It Is, Words of Love (Buddy Holly song) and Tell Me What You See

Yesterday and Today '66: And Your Bird Can Sing, I'm Only Sleeping, Doctor Robert and If I Needed Someone

Hey Jude '70: Paperback Writer, Rain and Old Brown Shoe

    and other various....
Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl, The Beatles Live at the Star Club in Hamburg Germany and Rarities are all fun too!!!!

Obviously it depends on your mood, but without doubt the best beatles album (and indeed one of the suberbly constructed albums of all time) has got to be Abbey Road. Every song on the album follows on perfectly from the other, PM melodies on the album are awesome, but theres no other album that plays as smoothly from start to finish as Abbey Road. Its pretty intimidating really how they managed to do it and underlines why the Beatles were/are one of the top three most influential acts of the 20th century. So there!

Obviously not. The Beatles are not all that common on the radio in the U.S. anymore, especially the early stuff. In fact, I've never heard a Beatles song on the radio that dated before 1967.

When did I ever say that their music isn't brilliant, challenging, enlighting, and wonderful? I obviously love The Bealtes' music or I wouldn't have all of their albums on CD and vinyl.

Ok, most importantly here, I NEVER said that because The Beatles were popular that they are bad or that their music is bad. I'm a huge Beatles fan! Also, you are one year older than I am... whoa, I guess that means I ought to bow down to your stunning knowledge that I cannot posess at the mere age of 17. [IMG] I guess you showed me...

Well, all of their songs may be played on the radio where you live, but not here. I love The Beatles music. I love every song on The Beatles 1, HOWEVER, like I originally said before you went off on this pointless effort to promote yourself to "Beatles king" or something and show everyone else that they are inferior to your knowledge at the age of 18, which everyone knows is the peak of one's brain power, The Beatles 1 is a great album, but not a true depiction of their best work. How do you not understand that? That means that some of their songs that are not on The Beatles 1 are better than some that are on it. It's good for a casual fan or for a completist, but The Beatles 1 simply shows you what people from the U.S. and the U.K. liked the most from The Beatles throughout their career.

Uh, yes, I'm the one who said that The Beatles 1 was not an indication of their best work, and that's when you stepped in on your high horse to make a useless rant.

The reason for the title Beatles One is because they were all actual #1 Hits on the charts....definitely not their best work just the most popular ones they released as singles.

Also, I have heard lots of Beatles on the radio...maybe even most of their work I've heard on the radio (in the USA)...in one form or another...most rock stations have a syndicated Breakfast with the Beatles...usually come on Sundays so check your local rock station...I'm willing to bet they are playing Beatles!!

I can't be bothered arguing when its obvious neither of us is listening to the other Lucifer. Lets just agree that our interpretations of the term 'mainstream' are different.

I stand alone with Sgt. Pepper's Loney Hearts Club Band.

I do believe I'll never let it go! YAY! Actually, just put it on a minute ago, and it was over way sooner than I expected... that is why they have a repeat button!

Yeah, totally. I don't care to worry about this anymore.

Oh yeah, and I'm a slave for Revolver. I really like The Beatles (White Album) as well, especially those super cool tunes like "Rocky Raccoon," but there's just something about Revolver.

Yes...there is something about that album...I think there's only one song I skip... and that is "Yellow Submarine"...that song is lost to me because when I was a younger child my music teacher used to sing it to us with her high pitch voice and her guitar...so when I hear it I just think of her...and I'm like "ahhhH!"....but other than that...I love Revolver to pieces...there is just something about it... :)

Haha, same here. I've heard "Yellow Submarine" so many times that I usually skip it as well. Sometimes I skip "Taxman" as well because I've heard it SO many times. Heh, and sometimes I skip the last few just to get to "Tomorrow Never Knows" quicker!

That teacher singing thing sounds kinda creepy though...

Mmm...Tomorrow Never Knows....good song. :) I love Taxman. :) My favourite though on the whole album is tied between "Love You To" and "And Your Bird Can Sing"... Revolver was one of the first albums I got on vinyl (because my mom gave it to me) and I was so upset that that "And Your Bird Can Sing" wasn't on there...

Revolver is pretty fucking good. Ironically my favourite song from it now is the one I used to like the least 'Here, There and Everywhere'. ah makes me smile just thinking about it. :)

At first I couldn't understand why "And Your Bird Can Sing" wasn't on your vinyl copy, but then I remembered that for some reason the U.S. liked to butcher Beatles albums before they released them here. I have the British version of Revolver on CD and vinyl, so I'm good! :)
