From where do hippies get there money from to keep travelling all the time? From where you get your money from?
I get my money by working, I don't know any other legal way to get it. Do you?? As far as traveling, I haven't been off the Farm for 22 yrs. When I did do a lot of traveling, I didn't usually need any money. If I did, I would sometimes panhandle or do some cleanup work, or a few of us would go down to the winery and they'd pay us 25 to 50 $ for testing wines.. some sold their blood. They were ways to get money if ya really needed it. Back in the Day, we didn't use a lot of money. We barterd or traded for what we needed and with 'everyone' on food stamps there was plenty of eats. Rent was real cheap with 10 to 15 people sharing the rent. If you were on the road people would help you and give ya a place to crash and some food to eat. You'd repay the kindness with doing some odds jobs or lawn work or perhaps doing the supper dishes and sweeping up. There are a million ways to make a buck if you want to. On the road you pass a lot of farms, they always need a hand doing something and country cookin' is the best. Best Of Luck on your journey sh
Thank you Capt,' just a few thoughts that crossed my mind as I remebered back on my traveling daze..and my street daze in The Haight.. sh
All trash and no real answeres. I heard they grow/sell/carry/trade drugs and take advantage of the price difference in different countries to keep making money for their travel.
"they" hippies is a wide term, so i doubt there is a actual answer to your questions peace, love and sunflowers
Not all backpakers are hippies. I mean those who are travelling all the time, long hairs, use soft drugs, year long trips, smelly sometimes. and if they like that place, they stay there for as long as they want.
there's a big difference of how people did it more than 22 years ago and how people do it now. it's all because of newer/more heavily inforced laws and paranoias. drugs would be a great way to pull it off if you could do it. guess it depends on what you're moving. weed's a bit freakier because of the smell and the cops don't really need a reason to search you these days (see patriot act). but anyway... from what i gather, people today do it by working odd jobs (temp things) and selling things (usually crafts. a lot of people hit up free festivals to sell their stuff). that's all i've really heard of. when i get my farm, we're gunna put up a sign at the road that says something like "hark! hippies and travelers: help wanted for harvest, $(whatever wage we decide on) and share of crop!"
<<All trash and no real answeres.>> We could tell you, but then we would have to kill you. LMAO Sounds more like it isn't what you wanted to hear or believe to be true. It is different now in many ways I am sure. The kitchens are great and always a place to come home too. It looks like computers are bringing us together again in a way never before possable.
Grow? How can they grow drugs while they are traveling? Pockets wouldn't be good for that... Not to mention, seems like the more hippie-like thing to do would be to buy cheap drugs in one place, and then share them with people where it is more expensive... But at the same time not all hippies are backpackers. "If all weebles are wabbles, and some wabbles and woobles, are all weebles woobles?"
what SH said as well as i hate to say it,,, but many of our so called travel all the time hippies skroo the system ..(some are for good reason of course ) get the benefits from either welfare or get some form of SSI... and thats how they do it,,,, some folks use there talents wisely and make a good go of it as well....panhandling is another way folks still do it as well as travel n work a bit n travel etc... and nowadays many people have jobs that are pretty much done online or telecommunting etc and it leaves them time to do what they please,,, here we work though so therefore do not do much traveling other than when we schedule time off around it etc... of course having critters makes it even more difficult but we do work around that when we really feel the travelbug hittin home.
well ya can always hustle queers,, if yer young an handsome.. big money in it,,an dirty old men are everywhere..
Runs to look under her bed.. damn the luck, only an old empty sock... sigh.. All my answers are trash and just an old empty sock to show for my poor pitiful life.. what duds we are, how dare we repsent ourselves by answering with such dribble, like getting a job.. Thank you so much, before law, for setting us straight on our worthless contributions. Now we can devote our time by serving you. How fortunate it is that you came along and show'd us our misguided way. How can we ever repay you. Will you be our leader.. sh
I had a job for a while, and quit so I can have the opportunity to go to college (to be an RN). I am thinking about learning how to do some carpentry and selling some furnishings. But as of right now, I am going by nmy last couple of paychecks that I saved. But then again, I still live with my parents so I don't really have any bills.
Yes, I am sorry for not living up to the expectations of a profiling conservative. How can I ever make it up to you for living my own life, which I was misguided into thinking was my constitutional right. I will make you a deal, you live your life, I will live mine. They will live theirs. "I am the one who's got to die when it's time for me to die.
