Relayer is a fantastic album. "The Gates of Delirium" puts me in a trance.

I like the part where ANderson starts signing with the acoustic guitar chords. And the intro is phat too. I also like Sound Chaser (single edit). What's your fav part of the song? WHat other tracks do you dig?

I love the whole thing but my favorite is when they jam in the middle, then break down with the drums into the slide guitar part.

right on dude. Now that I'm all tripping and tranqued out, i CAN DIG THE SONG EVEN MORE. What is your opinion of some of their later music like "Owner of a lonely heart", leave it, It can happen, and the song where hes like "It's the calling of the universe, in the presence of the word" or whatever. I cant remember the excact lyrics cause I'm really tripping, but i think its off a later album called "Play", with Trevor Rabin on guitar. My other fav Yes tune is "You and I". After the first part of the song, it goes into that psychadelic instrumental section, u know, and then my fav fuckin part is where he sings "Sad preacher nails beside the corridor of time, insane teacher be there reminded of the rhyme, theryl be no mutant enemy we shall serve and fight, political ends our sdad remains wont die". That section makes me cry, seriously, its such beutiful acoustic guitar playing and lyrics. Isnt that called (that part of the song) "The Cordo of Time"? I'd listen to it now, but the CD was stolen from me a year ago. Peace

Fuck yea, I almost cried the other day when I was driving listening to And you and I. I dont like the later stuff though, after Going for the one. But Tales From Topographic Oceans is my next favorite after Relayer. Fuck I miss tripping and listening to it, but still, makes you cry when your sober too! Not that I'm sober, but I isnt tripping. Shit if your tripping now listen to To Be Over, last song on Relayer, tell me if you dont cry by the end on that one.

Yeah. That Shakira thing is like a holy desecration of Yes! I listened to that other song on Valentines Day. Even though the song was very mellow and sad, I laughed my ass off. Cuase my girl brought over some nugs, and we smoked a couple joints, and that on top of the ativan and 3 hits of cid, I was in fuckin heavan! LOL I laughed cause I saw some really strange things. I was blowing bud hits at the ceiling, and there was incense burning, and for like a half second, all the smoke converged and formed a sillouette of that dude u used to have in your sig (Billy Squier?), and I saw him jamming along with the music. I couldn't help myself from laughing. That was the first actual visual hallucination I've ever got off doses. I wanna get the Yes Album with "I've Seen All Good People" on it now. ANyway, I'm all busy with school work so I've got to lay off the acid and tranqs and shit, though the pot doesn't really get in my way.

    P.S. Fuck Shakirra!!

Relayer is my very first experience of Yes music. An adventurous listening experience as I hoped it would be.

Gotta love that album cover art by Roger Dean too.

I only have "The Yes Album" at this stage but I'm really impressed. Will certainly buy more. Thanks to this board for the Yes recommendations.

My first introduction to them was a good 20-odd years ago with "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" (I think it's from that album 90125 or whatever it is)... yes it's a top 40 pop song but I've always loved it. I love the way they use the samples in it.

Don't have any Jethro Tull albums but I can't wait to find some.

Relayer is a masterpiece. The battle section in "Gates" is awesome, and i am still moved to tears by the "Soon" section to this day!
Would have been interested to see if they would have carried on in the direction they were going at that time if Patrick moraz stayed with the band

"My God" is probably my favorite Tull song, both for the music and the message. I saw them a couple of times, the "War Child" concert was eerie at times.

Loved them until Ian rediscovered his penis and gifted us with such gems as "Kissing Willie" and "Long Tall Girl". Hope his salmon farm does well and he gets it off his mind so he can write some decent stuff again.
