I'm looking at making today the first day of the rest of my life. I am healthy (i.e. I have no health problems) with the singular distinction of needing to discard 40 pounds American of excess weight.

Given that information and the fact that I am allergic to shellfish, what sort of diet (plan) would you recommend I look at? Please be as specific as possible.

good for you! i think everyone knows deep down what to do. fresh fruits and veggies lots of chicken and fish(non shell for you) and plenty of exercise. You are a nursing student? Have you had any nutrition classes yet? Do some up yoga. It will change your life.

The only way is to consistently burn more calories than you take in.

Excercise more, eat less (or better).
