There are plenty of things that are bad for our bodies, alcohol, smoking, sunlight, but none of these are truly dangerous in moderation.
Here's the definition of corn syrup: Corn syrup, known as glucose syrup outside Canada and the United States, is a syrup made from corn starch and composed mainly of glucose. A series of three enzymatic reactions is used to convert the corn starch to corn syrup. It is used to sweeten soft drinks, ice cream, ketchup, some breads, and many other mass-produced foods. Its liquid form keeps foods moist and prevents them from quickly spoiling. In many areas, it is less expensive than sucrose (table sugar) due to agricultural policy; for example, the United States subsidizes corn syrup production while imposing tariffs on sugar imports. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corn_syrup Hate to break it to you, but glucose IS sugar. So yes, you are the ass of the day with your most recent post. Peace and love
hahaha i just don't see how people can like to drink the crap!!!!! and in case you havn't been in america latley, americnas don't know the meaning of the word moderatioN!!!! lmao
No, not in moderation...and the same goes for sugar. The problem is, Pepsi does not moderate sugar appropriately...in what seems like a reasonable amount of the stuff is enough sugar to do some damage. Xx
I'm not talking about just pepsi, i mean all pepsi produsts: mountain dew, 7-up, dr.peper, ect. And i know these products causes helth problems, but this thread is for the things they do like that commerical(I still haven't seen it) and the other horriable things they support and do, and figguring out if these things are legiment reasons for people to boycott them.
Ok, let me clear something up for you, when people say sugar, no plural, they infer that it is sucrose, from the sugarcane plant, corn syrup is an ingredient, but it isn't sucrose, which is what was implied.
So glucose isn't sugar? I never read anywhere in Annie's post that by sugar she meant sucrose. She did not specify sucrose or glucose. Maybe you assumed that? Are you going to say that fructose also isn't a sugar b/c it isn't sucrose? Sugar is sugar, whether it is sucrose, glucose, or fructose. Peace and love
If you read my post, you'd see that I did say that it was inferred by most that when you say sugar, you mean sucrose. That is what I just said.
This is what you said. THEY inferred sucrose, not you. Maybe I inferred your comment wrong as well? peace and love
what are you hoping to gain from this thread? I don't think people are going to give up Pepsi just because you say its bad for them. Pepsi aren't suddenly going to go out of business are they. If people want to drink it let them drink it. I like it. I'm going to drink it. I don't smoke, I don't do sunlight so I've got to die somehow.
Thas just the point, for me anyway. I wont gain anything, i dont want to gain anything. I want people to be informed, and to maybe try thinking a little differently. Thats about all really.
I don't drink this crap. But, if they do have a commercial like this, I would think they are exercising free speech. It really bugs me when people say others need to do senseless things in order to "fit" into THEIR definition of what that group is. Silly. If I boycott something, it is because they are abusing their workers, or portray females as sex toys, or use racist stereotypes. I haven't seen this commercial, but I doubt a few dozen people, who don't use the product anyway, "boycotting" a product that they don't use anyway, will do any good. But, if it makes you feel like you are making a difference. Go ahead.
Painting James, glucose is a monosaccharide. Glucose syrup (corn syrup) is a blend of mono-, di-, and poly- saccharides. Here's the link: http://home3.inet.tele.dk/starch/isi/starch/glosary.htm That's where I got my info from. Peace & love
thank you hippychick666. primarily though, it is a monosaccharide. processing especially alters the characteristics.
Has anyone stopped drinking soda for a month? It is so hard to drink regular cola after you lose the taste for it. I stopped drinking it for two months and could only drink diet. The regular stuff tasted too syrup-y. I like tea and water, although I did go on a splenda flavored water thing. From what I have heard, splenda isn't much better than a lot of the other artificial sweetners. Ewww Pepsi! I don't like the taste, although I do like the quote: "Now, my shit, I'll take the Pepsi challenge with that Amersterdam shit, any fuckin day of the week." Pulp fiction! Peace and love
