You say it on page 12 of the F Christianity thread. If it's just a mistake in writing I apologize. But, it says I AM A CHRISTIAN. Go look at it yourself then edit it. By the way do you follow the Wiccan Rede?

That's not biblical. Being a pastor is no better than being a janitor.

New Testamesnt are free (at least from the Gideon's people). I am not sure about the whole thing.

But I do think there is a distinction between making your livelihood from seling Christian music, and MegaChurches with shopping malls and the such...

Interesting... I agree. I can see shelling out money for those hug study bibles and stuff but it seems that there should be more Bibles given away. But you have got to hand it to the Gideons on that one... They are doing a bang up job.

I'll go check it out because im sure i mean that I am not a christian.

And about the rede. Just because I am pagan does not make me wiccan. Its like this. I live in Alabama which is a state in the United States. Because I live in Alabama I am also an American. But just because I am an American doesnt make me a Texan(from Texas). But all people that live in texas are americans(unless they are illegal immigrants or something else).

Wicca is a religion that is fit under the term Pagan. The wiccan rede is only followed by Wiccans or some new ager who decides to combine it with something else. I see nothing wrong with Wicca, my girlfriend is Wiccan, but its just not for me.

Wicca came around in like the 20s or 30s of this Century. Some of my beliefs have been practiced here for thousands of years.

But. I try not to hurt anything or anyone. I do try to treat people the way I would want to be treated(like Jesus, Buddha and many others have said), and the only way I would kill an animal is if I needed it for food, but I would ask its forgiveness first of course.

Monolith, like you I study other religions. I find world religion fascinating. I know the difference between Wicca and other forms of Paganism. I was just trying to get a feel for your posts.

Hey I got something funny for you guys, its kind of ironic.

My friend asked me to go to church with her and she is a good friend so I didnt turn her down, this was in like December of 2003. Well there was this Christian radio dj there and he was giving away an autographed cd of some christian band called Building 429. I think they are real big in the Christian world, I dont know. Well anyways he said he had a birthday in his head and whoever was closest would get the CD. and well all the teenagers stood up and he narrowed us down. And I won the thing because he was thinking of April 13th and my birthday is April 12th.

I dont know why I find that funny but I just think it is. I listened to it and I dont really like the music and then I lost the cd and I found it the other day and I am probably going to give it to one of my Christian friends, haha make a good birthday present for them.

    Good idea MalyEdus.

I really got into Dave Crowder when he was writing all his stuff at UBC and then when he took his music out into the world. If you haven't listened to Dave Crowder Band, check 'em out.

Waterdeep is an awesome group...very great band with heaps of depth. They are up there as favorites.

Sixpence None The Richer is a very solid setup with Leigh Nash's amazing voice leading the way. She is my favorite female voice beside Imogen Heap.

Madison Greene is a cool band, kind of like Rusted Root if you like that earthy drummy stuff.

Seeds are decent for 60's sounding, but kind of knock off's i think.

there are heaps more and it'd be good to see if we could get a lil database going here.

I saw Sixpence Non the Richer in concert a few years ago. They were touring with Third Day and Toby Mac, and it was rumored pillar was to be there as well. Well, I myself am not a fan at all of Third Day or sixpence, never have been. But at the time I was big into Toby and Pillar, so I went to see them. Pillar wasn't there after all, but I got to see toby's full concert which was the first time I had gotten to do that. (2 other times I had caught parts of his shows, either the beggining or end, one was at a similiar concert set up we just got there kinda late). But nowadays, I don't listen to a lot of Christian music mostly because they don't have a lot of stuff that I like. But I will check out those groups you listed.

Oh, I have heard Watrerdeep and they have a really cool original sound. Really kind of an earthy like sound. They are pretty cool. It isn't something I would listen to all the time, but my mom really likes 'em.

I can't believe you guys forgot Alice Cooper as a great Christian artist :p

Anywho, i will admit that I sort of like The Elms. I linked their myspace because their official site is under renovations at the current time. http://www.theelms.net/v2/index.cfm

Yeah I've seen Third Day quite a few times. They usually put on a good show and they are one of the few christian bands that sound 'polished'. As years progress though I do think they seem to be stuck in the same sound. Their lyrics are always very inspirational though.

I am always searching for great bands with good messages...so post 'em if you know of any...and put the genre you could best associate them to

I know I'm pretty late coming to this thread, but here are my two cents. I went to a few evangelical churches a couple years ago and the services were nothing but three hours of singing. I decided that the evangelical church wasn't for me (thank God) mainly because that wasn't my kind of music. It felt like if you don't like the music, you're fucked, because that's the way to worship. Shouldn't be like that.
