Saw this last night. I thought it was good. I loved the Timothy Treadwell, he was so eccentric. In a way I felt bad for him, it was obvious he had problems, but I'm glad he passed away doing the thing he loved.. Has anyone else seen it?
from what Ive read and the clip of the film Ive seen he was very stupid and brought about the horrible death of himself and his girlfriend . how is being eaten by bears and seeing your girlfriend being eaten by bears doing the thing he loved .
It was one of the last days of their four month trip. Tim's life was living in the wild, just watching how the animals lived in their habitat. He wasn't apart of "normal" society. It's a shame that his girlfriend was killed too, from my understanding he tried to sacrifice himself, but she stayed there with him..
Werner Herzog is a great documentary filmmaker, he has a cultlike following among film students, or used to at least. I loved Grizzly Man, it draws you in and is very multilayered while dealing head-on with a rather sensational subject. Reminded me a bit of Kurt & Courtney in that way. Brilliant soundtrack too, Richard Thompson. I saw GM the same week as I watched March Of The Penguins and No Direction Home, two docs that no one would argue were outstanding. And for weeks after, my thoughts kept returning to this film. See it with an open mind, it's worth the time.
