Because this IS the bullshit forum, I was just wondering if there are any IB people in here? You'll know if you are one...

well yes I will answer... this is just my take on it cause ... well, I dont have it but I know of it ... it's people who go to the bathroom alot and its very disrupting to the rest of the people who you work with. Oh and they have gas. And they bitch and whine about it, all of the time.

 

because I have a highly stressful job, I find that IB only really effects me when I stop and fully relax at home.
but if it did effect me at work, i'd simply say that there may be times i need to disappear and so that i don't always have to go on about it, I'll explain once then you all know where i stand.
its very difficult to cope with if you have it bad (and I don't) sometimes you really need to go and can't other times you can't stop (I expect you've heard all this from her my friend!) frequently it feels like your shitting daggers!!
I expect she was just seeking reasurrence that you all thought she was being genuine and wasn't making it up, if you feel that its not accepted the stress makes it much worse.
I would suggest that if you do work with someone like that again you simply say as a team, thats it a taken the person will have to disapear sometimes, and they don't have to explain or talk about it beyond that.
diet, hormones, stress, drugs and alchoal are some of the many factors that can contribute to it, at some point in our lives a huge percentage of us will suffer from IBS, its not uncommon at all
If you wanna know what it feels like but have never had it, think about the time when you've had the squirts and can't stop and the time when you really need to go and can't, combine the two over a period of a day.
