If people want to get something in this country they'll get it regardless of what it is..
There were enough bloody shootings last year in the Birmingham Aston area -
I'm living out in the middle of nowhere and the amount of drugs floating around here would suprise alot of people gazing dreamily at the picture postcards of the mountains who come out here to escape the rat race...its rife. But if you want to avoid the whole underground thing in this country I've found over the years it's not that difficult - all depends what your after I suppose - if you go looking for trouble you'll find it - I just became a bit cagey about who I am friendly with..

uh huh, thats true, however we need to stop being sto negative, we live in soo much luxury to most of the world.
i used to live next to Aston in Birmingham for most of my life, and the main gun shootings, were gang rivalaries, the way to combat is not to legalise guns, i believe that to be insane.

in birmingham, if guns were made legal, i see a huge problem arising, although it is pretty easy to get a gun, the legal penalty hold many back.
and personally i don't want a shoot off with people

oh I agree entirely - I was born roundabouts Walsall - We do have it easy in this country and I've taken full advantage of it - I mean - I lived in an old shack on a bit of wasteland for about 3 months and never got discovered by anyone - no trouble nothing and made money busking - I mean we have a lot of rights - I used to live down in Brighton and they certainly practise the right to protest round there - London too.Not so much negativity as dunno - never remember hearing so much about shootings in this country - Its pretty relaxed round Aston actually - I went in the Crown & Cushion about a month ago in Perry Barr - first time and even though I was probably one of 3 white faces out of 40 I didn't feel intimidated or anythink - I had a few pints,no worries. No tension.

yeah i moved away from Birmingham a few months ago, and i do miss the fact that it is so multicultured, and yet doesn't appear to be an issue. and there is too much racism where i currently live and lack of different cultures.
i used to live in Perry Barr, untill i was around 14ish, then moved to Park Hall, on the border between Walsall, Sandwell and Birmingham.
i would be lying to say i havn't come across problems, but so what, things happen, it is life, so somebody takes a mobile phone, they are only material items, people exaggerate problems.

we have so much freedom and liberty and happiness in this country to take advantage of, and i plan to. the fact we can critise whatever we want, shows to me, we are pretty damn free.
    peace

by the way, where are you actually from? as in the first post you call yourself a British 'subject' ( i prefer citizen myself), but then talk about an American example, and then you attack us British!

of course gun crime went up... if previously owning a gun was legal and now it's a crime to own a gun then it's only logical that 'gun crime' increased...

i dont think it's necessarily the slaves that got everyone in an uproar about Hitler.... i *think* it could have had something to do with the whole mass slaughtering of Jewish people, gypsies, homosexuals, disabled people etc. and the fact that he started taking over countries.....

i am not going to debate with you what was wrong with Hitler, and i have never claimed British history is perfect, far from it in fact, but i still do not get your point

If people were freely allowed guns, people wud become paranoid about wot people could be carrying on them (sure people have guns, but to be legally allowed them creates instant belief that more people will be carrying guns who shouldnt carry them) If more people are paranoid about gun posession, it is logical that tension will arise very quickly in any conflict, and also dangerous or young thoghtless people who think they are hard will carry them more often as a symbol of power. a dangerous combination- yet the government would allow this. the less chance of a gun being carried the better- to have a population with more tension is very bad, nervousness provokes thoughtless behaviour. Not being funny but the saying "calm down and have a cup of tea" has real value in this wonderful nation of Englishness.

The possibility of terrorists being grown in this country would never ever be stopped by tom dick or harry owning firearms

People will resort to "quick fixes" in arguments, and a population could soon follow the western trend of not giving yourself time to understand wot is really happening around you.

The symbol of a gun is cowardly- being able to end a life without getting yourself dirty or even touching the dead body- this makes the death feel a whole lot less real to the murdorer

    GUNS KILL!!!

    1. i dont think he was around when the second world war was happening so i dont think it's him you should be complaining to..
    2. swords and clubs are still tools for killing people... it's not the guns that are bad... it's what you do with them.
    3. stop saying people are retarded when you can't even spell.
