weird instruments

i would like to no if there is any musicians who play less known instruments ( jug, washboard, cow bell, etc). i'm looking to buy some and just mess around with them

I own a didgeridoo.

 

i play darbuka, banjo and ukelele. and djembe but every hippie plays djembe so it isnt weird.

 

I bulit a electric 12 string bass drone thing. Someday I will have to make a proper name for it. Its the only one of its kind. I also built and play an electric laptop slide guitar. Also play didj. and other stuff.

 

I play lapsteel, and banjo...

 

And fretless guitar...

i have a spring drum and an ocean drum that i like messing around with

the ocean drum makes the sound of the ocean when rocked correctly and the spring drum is a cylinder with a long spring attached and when you rock it around it sounds like a thunder storm.
i also own a cowbell and a vibraslap(aka jawbone)

what´s the difference between a fretted and a fretless guitar in sound?

 

you can slide up the neck and the sound goes up in gradually on a fretted guitar the frets make it make an exact sound depending what fret your on
plus the strings are usually flatwound...which sound different

 

aside from sliding on a fretless, you can change the sound of notes and cords by where you place your fingers in the old fret position

im trying to find a fret hammer, so i can knock the frets outta my banjo

i don't know what it is called but it is a box, with beautiful carvings on it, and when you tap the carved parts with a soft mallet it makes the most gorgeous sounds....very warm and woody sound.....

 

I used to play in a junkband... full of weird and wonderful creations!
