My sun sign is Aries although if you met me you would probably think im like my aquarius ascendant.

I have never really felt that Aries described me very well, I've even felt quite opposite at times.

Could this be because I have mars in my 12th house which is the planet that rules Aries???

I want to get more in touch with my arien side as I feel its hidden!

    What do you think??

    Hey hey!
Well, I wouldn't be an astronomy believer... i think its nonsense really... except for the fact that I'm an Aries also and nothing could describe me better... starting things without finishing them, over enthusiastic, energetic, bursts of emotion etc.. etc... Personally I think its a great sign and of course you should explore it... unless of course its just not u... but if its inside then let loose! So much fun! So much living for the moment!
On another note its March... this month was suppose to be great for us especially the 29th... was it good for you? My month certainly has been interesting... Can't wait to see what the 29th brings (i wouldn't doubt if its shitty, I don't find the forecasts accurate, but again the sign profiles are)
    Anyways there's my first post.

your sun sign might not even be really strong in your chart..
to be accurate you need to look at your whole chart..

and yes it is most probably because of mars in aries in the 12th house.. you are here on a journey to BECOME your sun sign.. the 12th house is unconcious, this will make it harder for you seeing as you have mars in aries (mars rules aries) and your sun is in aries, what house is your sun in?.. but your souls journey is to find out.. WHO AM I? so keep trying!

your sun sign is in aries which is exalted (strong) so that means alot in itself..
okay how can i explain this.. hmmmmmm..
    the sign: attitudes and needs
    the planet: the urge
the house: areas and environments in which these manifest.
my sun is also squared my ascendant but my sun sign is pisces n my ascendant is gemini.. this is an annoying aspect i believe as your ascendent is like your social mask, how ppl c u when they first meet you etc.. and your sun is who you are.. it gets annoying i find when you want to express yourself as when planets square each other causes friction or problems.. what do u mean by what do the degree's mean? soz..

I mean for example my sun is 24 degrees. 50 min. Aries, whereas my ascendant is 00 deg. 55 min. aquarius. whats the significance of these degrees??

I totally know what you mean about wanting to express yourself as when planets square each other causes friction or problems! I feel like im 2 different people sometimes who don't get on! it confuses me as well as others!!

haha yes.. its so0o0o annoying.. we've just got 2 learn how to help all of our aspects work together in harmony..
your sun and ASC is approx 6 degrees apart, yes that is definatly a square.. the closer the degrees together, makes it even stronger, if that makes any sense lol..
no problemo, its wat i love doing.. any questions.. id b glad 2 help...

So what happened to you close to your 5th birthday? 30 degrees - 24.83333 = 5.167 years old (5 years, 2 months).

    Yes, 00 is VERY significant.

hmmm. Are you sure? What house system are you using? Koch? Is that a soft square? (~>5 - 10 degrees) A square would be 90 degrees, or 3 houses, making it Taurus, not Aries.

It means you were born one day after me. :D

But seriously, what is the planet in the highest degree?

    April 14, 1986, at noon, :
    Sun 24 Aries 15.0
    Moon 21 Pisces 44.2
    Merc 26 Pisces 41.7
    Venus 14 Taurus 57.9
    Mars 8 Capricorn 19.1
    Jupiter 12 Pisces 6.6
Saturn 9 Sagittarius 8.8 Retrograde (Rx)
    Uranus 22 Saggittarius 14.1 Rx
    Neptune 5 Capricorn 47.8
    Pluto 6 Virgo 18.2 Rx

So, I see a lot of Pisces influence in you (thinking and feeling, Mercury & Moon), then throw in a Jupiter in Pisces :

    http://www.astrology.com/features/astrology/jupiter/pisces.html

    http://www.astrologyguidance.com/othrsign/interps/ju-in-pi.htm

Mercury in Pisces is not the best place for it (may tend to make you look a little eccentric, if not overly sensitive; some say that it could also denote a physic sensitive (like me)). So you may tend to think things too much, maybe seeing things that don't really exist (over active imagination - an imagination that should be ruled by Neptune, which rules Pisces.

Since Neptune is in Capricorn, it is in its Fall. Neptune doesn't like to follow rules and Saturn (Capricorn) constraints and bounds. Neptune is also the planet of disillusionment. So Capricorn will restrain Neptune's tendency to be disillusioned, which again plays into your Mercury mentality of pragmatism.

    What house is your Neptune?

What does your progressed horoscope look like?

    Sun 13 Taurus 43.9
    Moon 24 Pisces 15.6
    Mercury 24 Aries 39.6
    Venus 9 Pisces 22.8
    Mars 16 Capricorn
    Jupiter 15 Pisces
    Saturn 8 Sagittarius Rx
    Uranus 21 Sagittarius Rx
    Neptune 5 Capricorn Rx
    Pluto 5 Virgo Rx

You've become more earthy (Sun in Taurus) (did you get stubborn, too?) but you still are the same sensitive person (Moon, Jupiter, AND Venus, too) You probably had a life changing event at around 6 years old.

Now, about Pluto in Virgo.... hmmmm. What house is that in, 8th?

    http://www.astrologyweekly.com/learn-astrology/pluto-in-virgo.php :
    http://www.astrology.com/features/astrology/pluto/virgo.html :
    Saturn in Sag:
    http://www.moonsweb.com/ast/saturnthrusigns.shtml :
Hopefully Saturn will not be in your 9th house, though, since it is Rx.

On a Progressive note, Venus in Pisces sounds interesting (Venus is Exhalted in Pisces):

Any planets in the 12th house?

Are you trying to understand your subconscious motivations?

The book "Buddhist Asrology" says that Mars in the 12th "spontaneously generates a strong sense of determination that wells up unconsciously. A negative side of this is being closed-minded when pursuing desires.

"People with this unskillful attitude may experience a sense of always wanting to be busy, which can cause great agitation. This is because Mars stimulates the unconscious wish to act without foresight. The lack of a reflective nature shows up as a restless disposition."
