I play acoustic guitar, but the music I play (Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath), would be better on an electric guitar.

I don't know where to start, I don't know anything :& about electric guitars or amplis. What's good? what's bad? what are the options?

What's your budget? I've found that you can get some good guitars second hand- this would probably be good for a first electric guitar. Or you could go with one of the deal, where it's like a guitar and an amp, spare strings etc. for a couple of hundred quid. They're good too.

My first guitar was a cheap strat pack, it comes with a amp and alot of other stuff. Electric guitar is alot more easier to play than a accoustic due to fret size. Well if you get a really low range guitar, aka beginners guitar, those wont last you as long as a higher ranged one.

Yeah, I remember how confused I was. Now everything makes alot of sense regarding the guitar and all of its equipment.

My budget would be around 800 $, maybe more. I'd like something that's worth it, not a cheap one like the acoustic I have now... it costs 125$ !

haha he was just kiddin with you.

for the amp, i would definitely look for a tube amp. if you don't know anything about tube amps, google it and ask your music shop workers next time you are in there. it'd be good to talk to them about the guitar too. just tell them how much you can spend and play a few. you should definitely play the guitar before you buy it too, make sure it's comfortable and easy to play for you. if i were you, i would look at some paul reed smith guitars. you could definitely play some led zeppelin and black sabbath on one of them and they have plenty of guitars within your range.

    good luck.
