Anyone know a Linux live CD that reliably works with notebooks, expecially for wireless internet access?
Yes Ubuntu's great but the live CD does not work with wireless, at least on my notebook. Has any once been successful with wireless and a live CD?
Just checked Knoppix at http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/ The tool for configuring wlan-access, if automatic boot-up configuration fails is called ndiswrapper. At the german-speaking forum there are a lot of people with running wlan on laptops.
I think it will depend on yr wireless network adaptor. If ur a DIY (as for me), u will have to do a lot of hack to make it work. But if yr wireless is pre-installed, i think many will suit u. If u don't do programming, I recommend SuSe.
