    Hello all,
Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm wondering if anyone has read some good books on the Vietnam War. I've been working on papers in college, and have been reading a lot of factual non-fiction...really dry stuff. I'm really interested in the contraversy surrounding this war, everything ranging from the Peace Movement to the VietCong in North Vietnam...
So I was wondering if anyone could recommend some books to me for a lighter read, something to enjoy, something less condensed, something that ties in history with fiction...Make sense? Maybe not...
Anyway, any suggestions would be great.

Tim O'brien's The things they carried is a very interesting read. It's genre is called meta-fiction, however. Tim O'Brien was actually in the war, he just decided to write quite a few fiction novels on it. It's a very good read. You'll get emotionally attached to the characters, if that's okay, if that's the sort of non-boring reading material you were seeking.
