Venezuela Dictator Vows To Bring Down U.S. Government

Venezuela government is sole owner of Citgo gasoline company

Venezuela Dictator Hugo Chavez has vowed to bring down the U.S. government. Chavez, president of Venezuela,: "Enough of imperialist aggression; we must tell the world: down with the U.S. empire. We have to bury imperialism this century."

The guest on his television program, beamed across
Venezuela, was Cindy Sheehan, the antiwar activist. Chavez recently had as his guest Harry Belafonte, who called President Bush "the greatest terrorist in the world."

Chavez is pushing a socialist revolution and has a close alliance with Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.

Regardless of your feelings about the war in
Iraq, the issue here is that we have a socialist dictator vowing to bring down the government of the U.S. And he is using our money to achieve his goal!

The Venezuela government, run by dictator Chavez, is the sole gas company. Sales of products at Citgo stations send money back to Chavez to help him in his vow to bring down our government.

    Take Action

Please decide that you will not be shopping at a Citgo station. Why should
U.S. citizens who love freedom be financing a dictator who has vowed to take down our government?

He's a hothead, but c'mon. What does saying "down with the US empire" have to do with overthrowing a government?

Maybe you forgot to take your anti-paranoia meds? :)

As for the military buildup, Chavez is a bit paranoid himself. Not completely without reason though. The US has called for his removal many times....and look what they've done to Iraq.

Dunno. Hopefully not to give to "Bolivarian Circles" or some other type of militia. But how does buying AK47s make you a dictator?

There are things I do and don't like about him-he is called a 'dictator' because the Bush administration and American conservatives don't like him, and they're afraid he's gonna screw them out of some of their oil money. He was legitimately elected, and a recall election, monitored and declared fair by international observers showed that he won with a big percentage of the vote. If Chavez was a conservative, nobody would be questioning why he's buying a few thousand rifles-every country in the world buys weapons for its military. And Chavez didn't vow to 'bring down the US', for God's sake-he vowed to bury imperialism, which isn't the same thing as bringing down the US-as if Chavez could bring down the US anyway. The US already engineered a coup against Chavez that failed, which it has no right to do against the legitimately elected leader of another country. The US is totally hypocritical, saying that it's in favor of democracy, but only supporting it when leaders and governments agree with Bush. And here is the US, the world's only remaining superpower, acting like it's afraid of a guy like Chavez-that's the same crap it pulled with Noriega in Panama, claiming that poor little Noriega and his army was some kind of threat to the US, when Panama had a little paramilitary force with 5000 men, and not one tank or antiaircraft gun! And invading that poor little country, killing 1000 people in the process, just to capture Noriega, whom the US had supported for years.
