cycle beads are not fertility awareness, they are rythm method. Only works if you have perfectly regular cycles, and know exactly when in your cycle you ovulate. But if you are perfectly regular, and always ovulate on cycle day 14, they would work great.

I did have an IUD once, the copper kind. It did make my periods much heavier, last longer, and my cramps much worse. They are contraindicated for women with endo, or symptoms of endometriosis.

That is not true mamaboogie, the rythum method does not take in to account a almost two week fertile window. Cycle beads takes into account that women do not always give off a ovum on the 14th day thats why the fertile window is 12 days.

Yes, I did say that in the first post it is best for women with regular cycles. But they do not have to be only 28 day cycles. Plus with cycle beads you can choose to not have sex during your fertile window or to use a barier method such as condoms during that time. I also know many women who use cyclebeads to help them learn more detail fertility awareness methods. Please check out their site fully and look it up on the internet for how others are using them. To see if they would work for you, if not good luck searching.

    Anyway Peace,
    Clove

Get your man fixed (vasectomy). The surgery for men is way less invasive than the surgery for women. He will still be able to ejaculate, he'll just shoot blanks.

Why don't more men do this? It's WONDERFUL. This shouldn't be all up to the woman. Takes two to tango, but this is great because you don't have to worry about charting your cycles, pills, condoms, etc.

If you may want future kids, what about a "spermcicle"? He can save his little guys for later (in a reputable medical facility, of course, I am not talking about the freezer in your home!)

You need money to store sperm....and it's not near as romantic using a turkey baster method....I like that we spontaneously conceived our baby....

I was simply sugesting an option, and that was IF she wants another baby. One is plenty for many people :)

I use hormonal birth control but would sign up for an IUD if it were free. I hate putting things in my body like that and I am vegan and I am sure any hormones like that were tested on animals. We all do what we can and it is impossible ot be 100% vegan and I do receive them for free, it's just the point.

We've just used condoms in the past. We've concieved when we wanted and prevented when we wanted, they worked perfectly for us. I won't put any form of BC in my body either, it just seems to gross for me personally. We will be done having babies, in a few days ;) and he'll be getting a vasectomy in the near future. It'll be comdoms again untill then,

Well, you also have to use them right. I've seen men put them on wrong quite often. You need to leave a bit of a resevoire to catch the semen in so it doesn't come out the bottom.

I'm going to try out the polyurethane "Trojan Supras", personally.

I'm allergic to latex, I hate being on medication for birth control [I just think anything that fucks with your hormones that way, is probably dangerous, just my opinion]

I know condoms aren't always fun, and these days there are more reliable things, but that's the only option I have... I'll let you know if they seem to work well or not.

I swear they must just break more often for some people lol---
My mom said she's never had a condom break in her life, and I've had at least 4 break on me, and it's not that we put it on wrong, I think it might just be lack of lube. [luckily, I never got preggers >.<]

Any lube I've tried though, besides my natural lube lol, has caused me to break out in a burning rash :& I'm REALLY sensitive down there, so, yeah.

I don't think it's uncommon for condoms to fail....

But oh well, I'm giving these new ones a whirl.

I was going to say exactly the same! I love this book!
Even though I'm using it for the complete opposite reason, the book does focus alot on using FAM as birth control.

Well, realistically unless you have an amazing gene which makes you secrete olive oil instead of lubrication, condoms shouldn't be a problem in your family :) Just an odd coincidence. Most of the time if they fail you know it though, as in visuably broken. I think they're tested well enough now they don't "leak". Even when I was on birth control (the pill) we used condoms too, both for the extra protection and the mess factor.

I am getting a non hormonal IUD next friday. I used to have pretty heavy periods, but after having been on the pill for almost five years my periods got much lighter, and truthfully I miss my heavier periods. I'll see what happens with the IUD, hopefully they'll even out and be not too light, or too heavy.

I'll keep updated on the IUD, since I'm getting it soon.

I had a baby and afterwords tried a hormonal shot but it freaked me out and I didn't continue it. I would not try the Iud either, my best friend had to go in for surgery because of a major complication with her IUD.No thanks. So as a result I ended up getting pregnant again to early and miscarried. What is the solution, I still don't know. Condems work but they ruin every thing and they suck. we just try now to keep track of my cycles, the natural way.
