Just thought I would share this. My friend is an artist and made the transition to start doing tattoos 2 years ago. I was one of his first 'victims' because I really trusted him to do good work. I drew out the basic design and then he added his own artistic flair to it. It is as of now.. still unfinished.. and needs to be touched up.. still lots of shading and coloring to do.. and it will eventually wrap all the way around my arm.. but 2 years later I still like it and it's one of my favorite pieces. It basically represents a certain period in my life and is an abstract expression of my beliefs in the cosmic everything and the contraction and expansion of the universe.. with the ever important vortex/spiral. The Egyptian heiroglyphics at the bottom form a band that goes completely around the arm, starting with the Ankh... you can't see the whole thing in this pic but roughly translated it means "Eternal Life, Spirit Ascension" Not the best pic but you get the idea Man am I itching to get more work done to this. Ink is addictive.
Here's the rest of my upper body. Not a very good pic though. I'm going for a 'balanced' art.. oh do I have plans!
You should get it recolored to bring it to life. It's kind of dull right now. But, it's a pretty good tattoo for the guys first time.
