I have the chinese symbol for survivor on my back-because i survived cancer and prison and god only knows what i will need to survive in the future. I have lips on my ass and ahhhhhh that was a really drunk thing, no reason for that, and then i have a skull and crossbones on my ankle cuz i lost my leg below the knee(from cancer) and wellll i have been a priate for halloween for the past 3 years ( i even have a peg leg haha).
I have a celtic style shamrock in the back of my neck. I love shamrocks, they remind me of my childhood because the place I grew up in had lots of shamrocks growing all over the place. Shamrocks are like a symbol of care-free life to me. And also also a symbol of love. And of course they bring good luck and all that.
glad to kow im not the only one with a tattoo on my ass, mine says "you fucking love me" its just a phrase i like.
Congratulations on surviving cancer. I have a huge lime green and black tattoo on my lower back. I designed it forever ago and my dad surprised me on my 18th birthday by telling me my present from him was a tattoo. I decided on this one because I knew I liked the design, plus it was easy to access so I could get it done that day. And, I have a penguin on my right shoulder. I woke up one morning and was like....I have $50 I want a tattoo. So, I showed up and my tattoo guy asked what I wanted....I was like....let's go random. So, he told me about this thing all the guys who worked in the tattoo shop had going....one of them would get this penguin that one of them had drawn....but it had been 6 months and none of them had it done yet, so he showed it to me and I said "Let's do it." So, he's my random penguin Ernie....or whatever I can think to call him at that particular moment. (Sorry for the terrible quality of the pic. You can really see the details in real-life.)
I have a peace sign made of ivy on the back of my neck cause when i was little it was a pretty picture i always wanted kinda normal but i like it... i have a swril of stars on my left shoulder which to me means confusion... and on my cheast between my boobs i have a lotus flowers with a pregnant girl sitting in the middle and a sun rising up in the background...... it means longing for fertility and rising above ... i got it becasue i had cervical cancer and they wanted to do a radical historectomy i refused and made them cut the cancer out instead beliving that i would be okay it was just something i truly felt and its a hope tat
The first tattoo I got was a peace sign on the back of my neck. I really ascribe to as peaceful of a lifestyle as I can, it's a reminder to myself and others how important it is. My second tattoo is the chinese symbol for "Dancer" on my foot. I've spent 20 years of my life dancing and it has been an important aspect of my life and has gotten me through some really hard times. My third tattoo is three stars behind my ear. At the time, I felt like I was a falling star. Up in the heavens doing all these great things, then just crashing down. The fourth one is the Buddhist eternity knot on the left underside of my wrist, it's a reminder of being grounded, remembering where I come from and the importance of unity.
good thread! i'll start with piercings: 10ga tongue venoms: theyre just an awesome feeling. i only wear them half of the week, just cause i like the change in sensation 3/4" lobes: i feel like they frame my face better, and stretched lobes just look more natural to me. theyre fun to pull on too. 14ga tragus to conch industrial (right ear): i just wanted to see if i could heal it. its been healed now since oct 03 dermal punches: 3x 2mm in my left conch: i wanted to see what getting punched felt like and how fast they would heal. 7/16ths septum: i had my septum pierced, then stretched out to 6ga. i wanted to go bigger, but i hated stretching. so i just got it dermal punched at 00ga. it was hilarious, and now i can put pencils, straws, chopsticks, etc through my nose. and its fun. tattoos: right thigh: i have a heart with two hummingbirds holding banner with my moms name in it over the heart. the over all theme is self explanitory. but the hummingbirds because theyre the only birds that can fly backwards. my mom has the same tattoo, but with my name. i drew it. left thigh: i have this really gross nasty looking heart thats kind of rotting with two bats holding a banner. the banner is empty right now, and will be filled in when i get the backround done. call me a pussy, but after 4.5 hours of getting tattooed, i needed to stop.

well, the piercing is rather large, so i needed a big area. and yeah, i wanted some where stealth. and since i knew i wanted to do a dueling theme, i would need to put it somewhere that i had two of. thanks jonsey , like i said before. this is a great idea for a thread.
Well, I have ten tats and 5 piercings, so I'm not going to cover everything, just a few super-special ones. I recently got a beautiful bird on my right side, below the ribcage. It's a symbol of "trying out my wings" and "learning to fly" in a crazy busy insane world. I have a tear drop under my bird that has the number 13 in it, which comes from a band my husband was in/is restarting called 13 tears of hope. 13 is also his lucky number. I have a star/moon combo, real funky like, on my left leg in mem. of a miscarrige I had. I have a flower on each hip- a lily to symbolize me, as they're my favorite flower, and a rose in the colors of my wedding, red and yellow. I want to get the word "fly" in cursive on my foot (not sure which foot yet) to show that I don't believe in being grounded or stuck in any way, as a symbol of my own soul's freedom. I want to get a vetical bridge piercing, too. I've only seen a few pics of them, but I think they are beautiful piercings and, to me, it would symbolize the same thing as bindi's worn by hindus- my beliefs, and my solidity and strength in my beliefs.
I have a simply black anchor on the inside of my left forearm. It represents hope, as well as being strong and grounded. There is a scar right underneathe my anchor from where I burnt myself. It's a stark constrast in between hope and pain.... My second tattoo is in the middle of my back. It's black cursive writing, with leaves and branches built into it. It says 'non omnis moriar' which is latin for 'not all of my shall die'. The leaves are filled in with white, and there are white highlights on some of the black lettering. It's beautiful.
I have my right nostril pierced because I find it a sexy part of a woman when she has her nose pierced..it seems very feminine and sensual, I have my tongue pierced because it was the first thing I got pierced and I am very proud of it, the nape piercing i have is because it helps draw a picture with the tattoo on the back of my neck, which is a pair of eyes i got because it watches my back I have my ears stretched because it feels like the primal side of me that comes out now and then,I have a 6 gauge septum ring that I absolutly love because itn just feels right to me. all of my other tattoos represent someone close to me...the sun on top of my hand is a representation of my brother, the fairy on my arm represents my sister, my fairy on my upper arm represents the friend who went with me to get it, my dragonfly on my back is a representation of my mother and the black and red butterfly i have by my elbow is my brother.the biomechanical heart and ribs on my chest is for my husband.i also have a unicorn on top of my right hand i have a leprachaun on my right arm a traditionl butterfly on my right arm i have an octupus lady on my upper right arm i have a purple lady in smoke on the back of my right forearm i have a sunflower on my right wrist(inside) i have a sun/moon water and star combo in pink and purple on my right arm right by the purple lady i have mushrooms and a sun on my left forearm i hsve a green elf in vines and leaves on the back of my left forearm i have a traditional butterfly on the left side of my neck and a traditional rose on the right side of my neck behind my ear i have a tribal black design with my first initial and I have a huge piece of tribal on my back that covers right between my shoulder blades..all of those are different pieces of me.so yes i am a very illustrated woman
holy cow.... man well mine will not be as long. i have my nose pierced on the right side cause i find it sexy on ladies. and i have one tattoo. it is of a fairy sitting on a bunch of clouds blowing the stars in the sky. the fairy is pregnant with the earth. i always wanted a little boy sitting on the clouds blowing the stars in the sky cause i believe we each our the manifesters of our dreams, hopes, perceptions, imagination, fantasies. but when i had my daughter, i switched the idea to a girl. she turned into a fairy because they are my favourite and also because my daughter's name is Arianna...i got the name from a fairy candle holder in a catalog. she is pregnant with the earth because arianna is my whole world and because i have much respect for mother earth. so there is so much symbolism in the entire piece. all that is mentioned on top of the fact that i am spreading my wings and moving in a whole new direction in my life. moving states, away from all my friends, family and all i have ever known...all for the magic of love. son of a biscuit is huge too, esp for me having no other tats. its about 8 inches tall and 6 inches wide. i am waiting to get my camera to post a pic
well I have half sleeves on both my arms and a large symbol on the center of my chest. (that one hurt like a mother fucker) The symbol is a triangle with two circles on the inside.. at each end of the triangle there are other symbols. One is a plain circle, one is a wheel with curving spokes, one is a crooked spiral. To me it represents the connection between god/the infinite, earth, and humans. It can also mean spirit/mind/body. On my left sleeve is an alien, some pyramids, a spiral/vortex with planets getting sucked into it, and on the outside of it is some ooze type stuff representing the splitting of time.. there is also a sun at the top. At the bottom is a band of ancient egyptian hieroglyhics which translate to eternal spirit ascension. On my right sleeve is my world war three scene.... representing a certain period in my life of strife and my thoughts on the world in general and where we were headed. Father Vic is the center.. the megadeth mascot.. a cloaked grim reaper looking dude with metal hooks clasping his mouth shut and a piece of metal covering his eyes. Around him is sillhouettes of people at war, supposedly nuclear.. with a green/yellow glowing city in the background. under the city there is blue flames. The sky is a swirl of oranges/pinks/yellows. In the sky at the same point as the other arm is a moon/skull/radioactive symbol. I got it from a Rodney Matthews painting.. it's a moon.. in the shape of a skull.. and the eyes and mouth are in the shape of the radioactive symbol. At the bottom under the flames is a band going all the way around of two serpents intertwining as they go around. Oh yeah.. and I have a reset button that I tattooed myself on the back of my left leg where the knee bends. Its a pressure point hehe.
I have my left nostril pierced. Why my left? The left side is the spot associated in Ayuvedra (Indian medicine) with the female reproductive organs, the piercing is supposed to make childbirth easier and lessen period pain. Its very common in India for a woman to pierce the left nostril, and it was something I found beautiful whist over there travelling... keep in mind, this was back in 90's when no one in my area had nose piercings. I wear a silver hoop in it, although am always on the look out for a gold one. I have 3 tatoos on my back. My zodiac sign on my lower back where i am missing a vertebra, and twin dragons (one on each shoulder)... looking over their backs at eachother and effectively watching mine (watching my back.. get it?)
2 peircings and 1 tat for now. eyebrow just because i went to new york when i was in high school and did it. my labre cuz i went to florida a couple years ago. seems like everytime i go on vacation i get a peircing. i have a fairy tat on my right arm from a tatoos and blues festival that my mom and her friends were running for charity so i got the tat for charity. i'm getting vines around my waist and up my ribs with names of the people i have lost in the leaves. and a pearl on over my heart for my mom who died of cancer in sept.
I have my right eyebrow, both ears (4g), and the left side of my lip pierced... I got them all for different reasons. The eyebrow was just 'cause I wanted to try out piercing... I got my ears done when I came to university - we made it a residence house trip to the piercing parlour and we all got something done, it was rad. My lip ring was a reward for getting through some shit in my life. I'm thinking about getting a tattoo or two this summer - I am really looking to get a lotus blosson right below my right elbow, on the inside of my arm... Anyone think this is a cool place for that? Any suggestions? I'm also thinking of getting a hammer and sickle on my shoulderblade, but I have to think about that one a lot more because of the nasty political connotations a lot of people associate with it (To me, it's a symbol of belief in a basic human good).
Okay well I have my lip pierced. I'm not really sure why, I've always liked lip piercings. I have four rings in one ear and two in the other. Four of them I got done at pride when I was drunk and they were my first piercings. I used to haave my eyebrow pierced and I got that when I was board one day but it's gone.
