When YOU say, "I'm A Christian" When you say, "I'm A Christian" I began to question the way you live I wonder if you take more than you give Are you quick to forget and forgive? Or is it taboo for you...to be passive? When you say "I'm A Christian" I want to ask you what you seek Does it require you to be lowly and meek? To turn the other cheek? Or just attend church a day or two a week? When you say "I'm A Christian" I want to ask you what you mean Does it truly mean you are "Like Christ" Or just playin' up that scene Like so many here and there and in between When you say "I'm A Christian" Do you feed the hungry? Lead the blind? Visit the prisoners? Comfort the maligned? Care for the sick? Love the unkind? Do you cry out for peace Do you embrace mankind? Or are you inclined...to resign? To judge others and whine To harbor resentment To have an axe to grind To try to outshine, to opine And bind your brother's mind? When you say, "I'm A Christian" What have you just said? Have the sheep been fed? Have the sheep been fed? BY LIBERTINE
i absolutely agree with this poem. im not a christian, but i really notice how incrediby hipocritical they can be. for awhile ive really had something against christianity, but then i realized it wasnt the religion, it was all of the impostors who claim to speak for god and enjoy being prideful, condescending, and hipocritical. thank you for an enlightening poem.
I really liked this,I can think of so many people in my life I'd like to ask these questions to,well done
man, i have an aunt i would love to give that too. i have dealt with nothing but her christian judgements over the last couple years and well, my response to her always (in my head cause i dont care enough to uproot stuff) is you missed the entire christ message lady.
Great post man, I have read some of your posts in the christian forum and I must say I agree with alot of it.
