I had a freezin thingydone for precancerous cells, i have a pap in may but now i'm starting to feel like stabbing/shooting/pinching pains INA PLACE I SHOULDNT.... what can i do to make sure it doesn't get worse? I'm only eighteen and a new mom.. not ready to die yet.
Your not going to die, try and calm down. Go back to the doctor, and ask him all these questions. You'll feel much better after you do, trust me. Your just creating anxiety right now. Yur thinking the worst in your head, and you shouldnt until you know. Hope this helps
The docs had to do the same thing to my sister and she's fine. She was scared to death at the time, but with the proper medical care she's healthy as a horse now. They froze them and after some time did another test and everything came back normal. She has to go back every six months to make sure everythings still okay, but it's been over two years since that happened. It's evidently a lot more common than most people think.
I had two abnormal smears back in 2001 and had the treatment. I was scared, and the waiting for results was awful, but now I've just had my sixth negative, one more next year and I go back to every 3 years testing. I know other women who've had treatment, all well after many years, and you'll be well too. My nurse told me the women they see with cervical cancer, are the ones who don't have regular smears and the disease gets to progress. You aren't one of those, you are taking care of yourself. Talk to your doctor, and ease your mind, but you'll be fine.
What stands out in your post is that you say you are a new mom... Pap smears during pregnancy, or within 6 months of giving birth, have a very high incidence of false abnormal results. I can find the studies if you'd like, or you can find them yourself at www.pubmed.com If your pap tests were done during or immediately after your pregnancy, there is a great chance that the abnormal results were false, and you may have had a totally uneccessary procedure. The stabbing/shooting/pinching pains sounds like scar tissue to me. As far as I know, pain is not a symptom of cervical cancer.
Yes. After I had both of my daughters, my exam showed abnormal cells. My ob didn't do anything at that point, I just had to come back in 6 months. My pap was fine.
the freezy thingee is nothing. if they (the cells) get bad, you'll have to have a l.e.e.p., which is a procedure where they slice off part of your cervix. i've had two of those, but the more you have, the higher the likeliness that you'll have trouble with a full term pregnancy. so don't worry, til u have to have a leep check www.webmd.com for questions
