Kind of been mulling this one over for a few days, I'm not sure I like it. But I thought I'd put it out there for you guys to critique. Soundscape Every morning I awaken, shuddering amid the deathly silence four frozen walls create a desert wilderness of artificialities; no life thriving; save for the dustmites. I cringe, throw up the window seeking but a single living sound: the happy bark of a dog, the wind moving in the trees, the birds singing their morning music. But I hear only noise: the monotone growl of air conditioners, the angry roar of jumbo jets cutting the sky, the ever-present horrid hum of dinosaur driven traffic. The birds, the breeze, are drowned out for the living have no place among the dead.
I'm not the 'classic poetry fan', but I really, really like this. You definately have a way with words and conveyed a feeling of anxiety about the modern world that I think many people can relate to. Good one
