absolutely not. democratic reps from TX fled to NM back in 2003, after DeLay rewrote the district lines to favor his party, and short-changed minority votes in this state; I remember, because I was living in NM at the time.

    how's that for democracy?

really good leader, justwow? you don't even know the man, or what he's done; a lot of Texans are pissed off at him, and would love to have his head. He may be a good leader to easily-fooled christian hillbillies, but to the rest of us, he's a snake with no credibility whatsoever.

History will prove Bush right in what he has done as President.

I do agree with that. Bush won't stop pushing until we have a war that makes mankind very nearly extinct. At that point, the few who survive will probably worship him as a god while they try to figure out how to make fire by rubbing sticks together.

Let me just see if I really understand your positions correctly: you think all this war is about is having corporations get rich off of rebuilding Iraq, as is the case with all wars and hence was Bush's plan all along, and still is and always will be.

    Am I correct?

Oh btw, and I see no one has a response to my point about Murtha and the other liberal politicians. Surprise surprise.

Wait a minute now. Don't get me wrong. The hillbilly can have an IQ of 200 and the redneck 202. :)

Hey Justwow I have an idea for you to try out when you get off of your 'puter. Take little trip down to the local Army Recruiter's office and sign your name on the dotted line. Drop us all a line when you get to Iraq and tell us how much you enjoy being shot at and having your p*cker blown off.

The biggest difference between genuis and stupidity is that genuis has its limits.

Hey Flmkpr, see ya at Trail Days!

I think Bush went to war because:
    1) Control of oil supply
    2) Finish what his Dad couldn't
    3) Bolster support through patriotism derived from creating shared enemies
    4) put bucks in the pockets of his oil buddy interests
    5) put bucks in the pockets of his defense contractor interests
    6) take attention away from the fact that Osama will never be caught (why is up for a lot of debate)

Do I think this is the case in all wars? No, absolutely not. With the privatization of our military the incentives for profit from war have never been higher. This is a new age.

Yes, I do think this was his plan all along... Bush himself has stated many times that the army should not be in the business of nation building, I guess he prefers for it to be in the business of profit building.

What is there to respond to? You made no point. I will reach out to ya though... there is corruption in government on both sides no matter what you do. If I remember correctly Murtha was being looked into for accepting bribes or something in the 70s... is that what you are talking about? If you think a bribe accepted 30 years ago warrants as much discussion as unconstitutionally fixing congessional seats and conspiracy to launder money to avoid campaign finance laws then we will just have to agree to disagree.
