I am kind of neither/nor...although in summer when I wear singlets, I couldn't bear the thought of someone seeing me with hairy or stubbly pits! :S
It's not really my taste, but I don't mind when people have pithair! If you like it this way, leave it this way
at my school, there are alot of alternative people who dont really care to impress men, and my friends boyfriend kinda likes it. i dont really care to take care of my legs or pits that much. its not really a big deal. today in class my friend was wearing a tank top and she lifted her arms and not alot of people were disgusted. some people are, but their just a little too uptight. whatever. its free.
I think that what beautiful_freak is curious about is what types of activities are 'natural' women more likely to partake in. If you go to many 'artsy' or counter-culture themed festivals or events, you are much more likely to find 'natural' women. I take it that shaving is now the norm in The Netherlands. If people can't deal with your natural beauty, f**k 'em! It's your body, you have to be comfortable in it!
my comment was meant to show we do all the normal stuff. We just look fabulous and real while doing it. It's a great concept: sarcasm.
Are you saying that most formal wear is strapless/backless? I don't even care then. I'll wear formal wear as I am. but as amontillado said, in an office, you don't expose hair, either gender, so I wear a jacket or overshirt if i have a tank/ tankshell on. I prefer long skirts, so that's not a problem. My ankles have been noticed, but I work with another old deadhead and he's the only one (male) who would say anything, so no big "fuzzy" deal. His sweetie is a "sometimes shaver." Sometimes she bothers, and anyone who doesn't like it can take a flying fig. I like her a lot.
I have to let my body hair grow at times because of my eczema. Shaving can give me a nasty rash, especially on my legs, so I avoid doing so unless they are in excellent condition (which isn't too often). Pits are never a problem for me. I used to be very conscious of them but since I can go months without shaving them and hardly any hairs grow, I barely notice them. I fully understand that it can be very liberating to feel the freedom to leave our bodies in their natural state, as their Creator intended them to be. Full marks to all those women or men who don't feel the need to mess with nature. But having said that, I don't like my legs being hairy, as they are at the moment, coming into summer. Wintertime I couldn't give a toss because they are hidden neath trousers or long skirts. But come summer I like to get my legs out, and that means shaving them. I wish I had the courage to just leave them but I feel socially unacceptable to go out in a short skirt with long leg hair. It's not fuzzy or bushy, just very long and fine. My partner doesn't mind whether I shave or let grow. He always appreciates me for who I am ... even when my skin condition is really disgusting.
If anyone did that at my school they would deffinately be looked on with disgust! I shave my legs and pits regularly... I would feel embarressed if I didn't. I prefer to as well, I like the smoothness (plus, my boyfriend does too). Having said that, I have no problem with other people not doing it.
I'm confused. Why are people who don't shave 'natural'? Are those who shave, trim or whatever unnatural? What makes it unnatural? And why is not shaving natural? Because thats how nature intended women? Sure, but nature also didn't intend hair to get cut, toe nails to get clipped, finger nails to be painted, cuticles to be cut etc etc. It is rather silly to get into the natural vs unnatural discussion. It is a merely a way of claiming some type of superiority. "I'm natural!" Be who you are and keep your body how you want.
aha, true dat... nature didn't intend for us to wear clothes either, but I really am fond of them when it's -40C outside and I have to leave the house
Free you rmind. Open your box. Let your body shine. Don't let what others "think" run your life. Think for yourself. Find out the history of "norms" and why they are often constrictive to free thought. Be Free. If you aren't harming an other person, there is no reason to feel "embarraessed." EVER. That's why this is a Hippy Board. If you want to shave your legs, go ahead, but know WHY this is now considered "neccesary" for womyn to look "acceptable" by Babylon. YOU make the decision, as it is your body, but base it on the reasons WHY the custom is there, not just because someone says so. Free your mind........and the rest will follow.
yeah I know I know, I actually went to a prom with hairy pits last week haha so yay for me, I know I can do it now this is gonna be a hairy summer!
I'm a 26 year old guy that is in favor of women not shaving. I'd like to send out many cheers to all of you women that don't shave your pits, legs, and crotch. If one reads a few responses on any of the "no shaving" threads, the evidence of culture and conditioning can easily be seen. Both men and woman that are in favor of shaving always answer back with responsed that are evidence of culture and conditioning. The only one response that has nothing to do with culture and conditioning is prefering the "sensitivity" just after shaving. Society is so brainwashed that they don't even see that is why they "prefer" certain things.
Oh, yes. I have the same obsession. Armpit hair is my favorite..! I play with my armpit hair constantly. I love my guy's armpit hair, too.. he thinks I'm a bit nuts how crazy I am to see his armpit hair.. and his happy trail.. ahhhh. Groovy. Society sucks.. fuck 'um all and their brainwashed ideas of "beauty." Beauty comes in so many forms. YAY for a hippie forum!
Oh, yea, I love hairy girls! I agree, screw society and its fucked up ideas of 'beauty'. Give me a natural girl any day. Yummy yum yum....
