Well, he isn't Jamaican and he doesn't blaze but... somehow he still seems to make good reggae tunes. Whether you agree wit what he says or not, his talent is undeniable...

Matisyahu is good because he's bringing the positive vibrations and riddim of roots reggae to the massess.... and at tha same time he hasn't seemed to bastardize tha music too much like a lot of other cats

i like him, his music's really special and cool.

 

A lot of people really like him. I don't. For two reasons, I don't like regge and I don't like religon being promoted in music. If if I am technicly jewish.

 

What else do you classify as special?

 

not much, just the idea of him being jewish and singing reggae.
i'm from israel, and i have religious friends who like him and non-religious friends who also like him. people who are not even jewish like him, and he is singing about being a jew and loving GOD... when i think about it, he's not that different from other reggae singers... i dont know. i guess i have to think about it.
