For months now I have not been able to copy and paste with my yahoo email! I have 4 yahoo accounts and don't want everyone to have to switch address books.
Am I doing something wrong or is something messed up with yahoo?
    I have FireFox server.

    Anyone?
(Please also remember you have to explain things simply, I am not great with computers and don't know the lingo much)

What happens, do you get an error message or does it just not let you paste.. and what are you copying, address books or messages?

I suggest you try to use IE explorer to send your mail. If that does no wrong, then it proves that there`s something wrong with your FireFox.

I just tried copying+pasting with Firefox and Yahoo mail, seemed to work fine for me. It's happened to me on other sites though, I just can't remember how I fixed it :|

Only thing I can think is you might have an old version of Firefox. On the menu where file/edit etc is, click on help and then about, underneath Firefox it should say 1.5.0.1 if you've got the most recent version. If not go to www.getfirefox.com and download it, that should fix it (hopefully).

If that doesn't work, the best thing to do is what Arthur said, try using Yahoo mail with Internet Explorer instead of Firefox.

Yahoo is full of bugs. Depending on your equipment.
For my Webcam to work, I had to edit my registry.
I don't recomend this to the squeemish or weak of heart!!!
But eventually it works. Not that I use it much.

I use Mac OS 9.2 with IE 5 (Internet Explorer). There are a lot of annoying glitches with Yahoo! Yahoo! keeps asking me to upgrade (=break) my browser. But that would require OS 10. (More breaking my computer.)

This reflectes a poor customer service attitude. It seems like a lot of websites want to give their visitors the "maximum" experience (which requires the latest and greatest software) rather than make their content avaliable to users with any browser.

Firefox works better than Internet explorer in Yahoo mail for me. I can copy from a received e-mail, and I can copy and paste from one I'm composing. IE only lets me paste into the composition window.

I personally use Deepnet Explorer. It has all the other browsers beat hands down. It uses IE's rendering engine but other than that it's not an IE clone. It loads faster than Firefox, and has better tabs, along with a lot of other great stuff. Loads all sites including MS update. Has a built in news browser and optional p2p (gnutilla) program. Drag and drop to the address bar, active X content control. A floater as well as pop-up blocker, phishing alarm, mouse gestures, adverts killer, etc. I've been using it for about 2 years now.

hmmm sounds like the best of both worlds. Is it really bad for spyware, cause thats the biggest reason i use firefox. It gets almost no spyware.

There is actually an extension you can download on Mozilla's site that lets you open sites using the same characteristics that IE does. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/
Once installed, you can right click on any link and choose to open it as an IE tab and it will do the basic functions that IE does, pretty much imitating IE to a t. So any site that can only be viewed in IE can now be viewed in Firefox, too. I swear by Firefox because it's got virtually no pop-ups and my computer has pretty much been ad/spyware free since wiping the harddrive and using only Firefox.

You shouldn't count on your browser for spyware protection, but it does allow you some choices in terms of blocking ActiveX Execution and scripting etc. which can be controlled by you as to what level to allow and what to prohibit.

I use a few different programs. Spyware Blaster and Spyware Guard. Spybot Search & Destroy, and Windows Defender Beta2, which is Microsoft's new security program that also scans for and detects a lot of the Rootkits floating around now. I also use AdAware SE and RootkitRevealer from sysinternals. I also use EULAlyzer from Javacool to scan end user license agreements before I install anything. If it is download from the net then it gets scanned with AVG before it gets opened. I'm a power user so I don't like to think about malware when I'm surfing. I NEVER get spyware, and everything I've mentioned here is free.

Did I mention Deepnet comes with 4 built in search engines (XPSN, Yahoo, Google, and MSN), 5 news search engines (moreover, Feedster, Daypop and Google and Yahoo news) and multiple start pages too.

You use an awful lot of stuff just to protect from adware and spyware. I really can't say much, though, because I have Norton Systemworks working along with Ad-Aware and Systemworks is by no means cheap (though if you look hard enough, you can find it hacked online, but I'm not suggesting that or anything...lol).
