Of courses, there are times when we know who committed a murder. And there are times when we "think" we know who committed a murder.

Metro, would you give to the death penatly to those soldiers (in war) who murder innocent civilians?

Well, the exact situation would have to be examined. If it was done by accident, no. If a soldier took it upon himself to murder an innocent civilian then yes. I have no doubt this happens, there are some sick people in the military. Some however are going by the orders of the people above them, so the issue is naturally complicated.

War is hideous, and I'm against it in most all circumstances.
Look, it no one murdered, we wouldn't need to worry about this. If the Nazis didn't murder, we wouldn't have had to go to war against them. Why can't we look to prevention rather than worry about whether punishment is appropriate.

I am for the death penalty. Our judicial system is so whimpy right now it is ridiculous. All you need is enough money to pay a good lawyer, and you can get away with, or at least plea out to lesser charges.

I think that if you want to cut some money out of the prisions and put it back into social programs or preventative programs than we need to stop jailing people for possession.

I think that we try to hard to be fair to convicts that we end up letting society suffer over it. I bet WAY more guilty people get away with crimes than innocent people that get convicted. And a lot less innocent people are sent to death than people that deserve it and aren't.

I hate that "eye for an eye" crap. Ghandi is right about it, but I think Ghandi was trying to tell us not to take the law into our own hands. Not to seek revenge. Revenge and punishment are different.

It seems to me that many who do support the death penalty do so out of revenge.

Well, I am very vengeful. So maybe that has something to do with it, but if i were to be killed, i'd want revenge.

I'd just turn into a succubus and start fucking with whoever killed me right in the middle of him/her having sex.

Death is not a penalty. It's liberating a "guilty" person.
