I try to keep good quality military issued: baggage, cook-ware, and supplies on hand. I'm many others do as well. They are the best and very usefull for camping and festivals. loadup.com i found this site and it is really cheap... check it out, if you have any favorites you like please share
gas mask bags, the wwii ones, made the best day packs ever. i had a leather camera box for my 4x5 when i had that that was issued to the hore calvalry, from i don't know when. those folding messkits are great too. and that folding shovel, sometimes called a trenching tool is a handy item. though a bit heavy. but it does fold to fit in or on a standard full size backpack. haven't seen a real decent REAL military surplus store (they used to be called army-navey stores back in the 50s) in decades. there used to be a good one over in reno on sixth or seventh i think it was, under the 395 overpass. but that was back in the 70s some time i think. =^^= .../\...
that stuff was gone a long time ago. by the late 70s few things were around in stores from ww2 . Theres was a army navy store here in early 70s and they had nothing. but they were a few trading post with lots of stuff . and a few dedicated army surplus store .
