When I get my first tattoo, what would be the best?...a small one that is just one color? because iwas thinking about it, like on my left wrist...or should it be somewhere else so it wont be as bad the first time. And im getting my bottom, left side, lip pierced....and my ears. But back to the tattooing, what and where would be the best?
Wherever you want it really. I've heard people say that tats with more colour can be more painful but its all up to you. My first tattoo is on my foot, concealable and such. Its a treble clef, you can find a picture of it in my gallery. I got something that meant something to me. A first tattoo is memorable, so make sure its something you really really want.
I'd say any places where you got a lot of flesh; don't go on thin skin where you can feel the bones. I got my first one on the upper part of my left arm and it didn't hurt like everyone says... I got about 26 hours of work just on my left arm and let me tell you, colors or black and grey, there's no difference, with colors it's just longer. How long can you handle it? Usually my sessions last 4 hours. Hope I helped ya!
You might want to think of visibility and pain thresholds. If those aren't of issue to you, then you should be thinking seriously if you're ready to get the tattoo at all. The one on my back was crazy - blind white pain over the ribs. The one of the top left arm was so pleasurable I never wanted him to stop. I've heard the opposite with colour and black though personally, I felt no difference. The colour may have felt less painful because my body had already adjusted to the needle after the black outlining. Don't forget your free touchups.
my first one was 45min long... I'm not sure I could've lasted much past an hour. Make it small/not ornate enough that you can get it done (and still done well) in less than an hour and a half I'd say
Get whatever you want. Pain all depends on your threshold anyway. Just make sure you definately want what you asked for. It's no good walking into a shop and choosing something out of the book, rushing into it will make you regret it. Remember it's going to be there for the rest of your life (unless you want laser treatment).
I've only had one done so far, that's not because it was a bad experience, in fact it was all over in about half an hour, being a small design, but I'm not sure what I want next, or exactly where I want it. The only slight pain I had was because I had my tattoo done near to the hip bone, and the vibrations when the needle was getting near to that area were annoying, rather than painful. Next time I will pick an area that has more flesh on it, but it's an experience I would repeat, once I've decided on what art to have and where to have it. Obviously it's important to do the aftercare regime, my tattooist suggested using haemorrhoid cream of all things, but it certainly helped it to heal quickly, which was important, being on the hip area, where I do a lot of movement. Good luck, look forward to hearing how it went.
My first tattoo takes up half my back, has 2 colors and took a long 3 hours to do. My second one is tiny and has 5 colors. So, it depends on what you want.
I love my tattoos and to be honest the more you think about it the more you question every thing just be spontanious, that is how I done all of mine and I don't regret them, but be worned they become addictive
