Quote: I think the Amish are awesome. There are a lot of them moving into my parent's area. My mom sold one of her farms to them. They have the most beautiful horses. They are excellent carpenters too, I love their work. I agree. I live maybe an hour from probably the largest Amish community there is. I love going up there and seeing them plowing the land by horse, hanging their clothes on the line to dry, not to mention how cool and gothic they look riding in their buggies. Plus they love to drink, at least the men anyway. Thanks Shary, that was the word I was looking for!
They played it there????? well, i live in an area with the BIGGEST amish population that there is so i bet that's why they didnt show it here.
we dont have the Amish here, i do know a few people off the grid though.the menanites, when my dad was in jail one time though they gave my mom money and helped her shop for the family(this was MANY years ago, when i was 2 or so.) and gave her rides to where she needed to be.
nope, the theme song will be 'amish paradise' by wierd al... Amish joke: how many Amish kids does it take to screw in a lightbulb? none, they'd rather sit in the dark and cry
i watched part of it, and thought it was basically pretty dumb, and not really believable. the amish kids didn't seem too conservative for one thing. i mean i know that they get a year off or whatever, but the girls were all wearing tiny bikini bathing suits and tons of makeup, and they all cussed about as much as we do.....
you dont think the amish are authentic, bird? well, obviously.. you do not live where i live and know their culture as i do. typical though... for a person who knows little or nothing, to make judgements/evaulations
My friend and I were Christmas shopping last year and stopped at Long John Silvers and it was literally JAM-PACKED with Amish people! They were actually really creepy. They kept staring at my friend...very unsettling. And I did not see any horse-drawn carriages in the parking lot! I was very upset by that! But it got to the point where I wanted to break those guys away from my friend's ample breasts with a stern "Step it back, Jedidiah!!!"
It's like a trip back in time. I think it's great that they have preserved their culture so well. Impressive.
well, they reviewed the show and are playing it here tonight at 8 pm. i think im gonna try to watch it.
i feel sorry for them, for if they were living with me, something bad would happen. plus, i dont know why though, i think the amish people are a cult. one day there will be a massive buggy accident....you just watch.. ok im on crack lol
