musicians need to eat too, irrigardless of what type of music they make. One could argue that the true musician - christian or not - shouldn't sell out by CHARGING for their music... out of curiousity, how often have you paid for ANY type of music? if you have at all, you're as much part of the problem than the ones who sell it, hm? hm, the last time I went to church, there was this basket floating around, begging for change... Religion has been capitalizing on money for centuries, get over it. poorly worded, poorly thought out... etc.
I find a more relevant spiritual message from bands such as Kansas, the Alan Parsons Project and Triumph than I get from most so-called "contemporary christian" artists. I doubt if muslims use music much as part of their worship activities, which is why they probably wouldn't use music as a means of communicating their faith otherwise. I think that christians, particularly of a fundamentalist persuasions feel the need to promote their "devotion" in virtually every aspect of their lives, including music.
