We know how the West was won We know of blood a bitter scarlet We take holidays in the sun We have yet to bite the bullet We worship her, wrong or right We all mindlessly assume our rank We follow her in juvenile delight We allow our minds to erode to a blank Please forgive America, she had the right intention So apparent is her every flaw An ounce of truth. It is a pound of prevention. But so much of her truth is obscured by the law.
